I purchased this Dutch oven specifically for making sourdough bread, and I couldn’t be more thrilled with it! The design is incredibly versatile. You can use the deep base or flip it and bake with the lid as the base, which is perfect for getting that beautiful crust.While I haven’t cooked other meals in it yet, I’ve already baked sourdough and the results are amazing. The bread comes out with a perfect rise and golden crust every time. I’m seriously impressed! It is so easy to use, and comes with silicone handles.If you're into bread baking, especially sourdough, this Dutch oven is a game-changer.

A friend recommended this cast iron Dutch oven after he had bought a much pricier one & said the big name brands aren’t worth the price difference. Not only does the base do the same job at lower price, but the expensive brand doesn’t have a reversible lid the way this model does; the lid can function as a skillet on its own.I’m using this just for a sourdough bread Dutch oven. The recipe & method I use, calls for putting 3 ice cubes in with the loaf as it bakes, for steam to help it rise. My friend said no matter how he tries to take care of his expensive brand Dutch oven, it still rusts from the ice cubes. If that’s the use I’m going for & it’s gonna rust anyway, I’m very happy with this well-priced & sturdy Dutch oven just for sourdough.This was only my 2nd attempt at making sourdough bread, and clearly these are “new baker” loafs, but they’re leaps & bounds better than the ones from my first batch when I didn’t have a Dutch oven & cobbled together something “good enough.”Cook times were exactly per recipe.The size is just right for a round or oval boule standard size bread loaf & probably other shapes I haven’t tried yet as well.Bonus: this included a freebie set of silicone grip pads for the handles. That was unexpected & nice & practical.

I admit I was a little skeptical about the non-sticking quality and pres-easoning but both are absolutely true. This product is easy made with high quality, easy to clean (although I do recommend wiping it down carefully at least as soon as your done cooking) and love the silicone removable handles to allow you to pick up the handles when the pot is hot. The removable lid has been great for using as a griddle/comal for cooking both corn and flour tortillas as well as pancakes, eggs or frying bacon without overcooking. Heats fast but evenly.

Well made and cheaper than the name brand cast iron oven. I use it to bake bread and works great. The surface itself is not smooth and it is heavy.

At home bread? Perfect period . I have the 5 quart one great size for perfect loaf

This item was amazing. It came with so many awesome features the versatility of the lid to be a frying pan and the silicone handles. I even gave one as a Christmas present to my daughter. She loved it.

Second order set I notice most have hair line crack I don't know bug I still used it cook over year ...cast iron today is not good as in old day. Other than great heat and cook well
