Durable and Super-comfortable
I bought one of these mats from Sports Authority to cover some wood flooring in our 2nd living area in order to convert the room into a gym. I intended to buy more, but SA only had one in stock, so I bought two more from Amazon. The mat I got from SA was in excellent condition. It had a light rubbery odor that went away after a couple of hours of airing out in the garage. The two mats I got from Amazon had a stronger odor and they retained the rolled-up shape more than the SA one, but after unrolling and rolling them back up in the opposite direction and then taping them up for about 15 minutes, they laid down flat. HOWEVER, one of the mats I got from Amazon was warped and had three "bubbles" in the middle of the mat that did not go away even after I placed a wood panel and about 300 lbs of weights on top of it overnight. It's clearly a defect, so I RMA'd it, which Amazon immediately replaced free of shipping charges. The mats are extremely durable yet still thin, soft, and lightly cushiony. I've placed a half-rack weight set with 300 lbs. of weights + a 45 lb. barbell on top of one of the mats and the weight of the rack hardly distorts the mat. I will, however, get an additional rubber pad to place under each leg of the weight rack for added protection to the floor and mat. These mats are very slippery on my wood floor so I recommend using rug tape to hold them in place if your floors are slick. They have good traction for walking/working out on with either shoes or bare feet though. Actually, they feel great to walk on barefoot; makes me wish I could cover all the floors in my house with this material, haha!Overall, great product!

This has a really strong smell and for my small room it was too much. The front has ridges that raise up which will help if want a good grip under equipment but not great for doing exercise on it like I wanted. It bunches up in the middle so would only work for something heavy on top to keep it held down. If have a large basement will probably work fine if air it out for a while. Can't beat the price but just not what I was looking for.

Great Jump rope mat!
The concrete was tearing apart my buddy lee jump ropes and I was having to replace the rope every month, so I needed a mat to jump on. I was afraid this mat would be too squishy and not sturdy enough to use for my double unders, but the mat is firm and takes a beating by my jump rope. It's very hard to find a reasonably priced jump rope mat and I love this one!

Slips very easily and I remember reading about the smell
It's a big enough size, but cheaply made. Slips very easily and I remember reading about the smell. The rubber smell isn't too strong and it's bearable. This isn't as bad as I thought it would be.

Good Cushion, But Slides
Provides a good cushion for the floor - but I have it over linoleum and it slides like heck. Looking to find something I can put on the under side of it to help it stay in place.

I use this under my Bicycle trainer. Cheaper to buy than the brand name mats from Cycle Ops or others.
