The chair is not good.
First, as an owner of this chair for 2 years (with limited use): don't buy it. Second, if your only concern is to not be on the ground, it will technically accomplish that, which means it is in fact a chair, as advertised. A stack of phone books would work too.PROS:- Looks-- nice two tone fabric with a breathable mesh (looks breathable at least) and a hole near the top (whatever that does), it LOOKS like its worth your money- The base of the chair rolls well- The arms fold up which is niceCONS (use by a 200lb person only on weekends):- The little screw covers fall off easily for no reason- After about a year of use, the piston will begin to slowly leak air which means you have to sit up, pull the lever and let it slowly rise back up to get at a proper height. This ritual is repeated weekly.- If you are an elbow-rester (god forbid), the padding in the armrests will deteriorate after a few months, and the faux leather will crack. If these aren't enough, here's why I'm even writing this review:- Every few months one of the screws will break, I have slowly been repairing them like leaks in a submarine, but today was the final straw and the chair just flat out doesn't support anything but vertical stress. It's useless, I'm throwing it out.And here's the lesson for you oh first time computer chair buyer like I was: if you are a featherweight or you do not lean back in your chair, this is a cheap option that will work. If you like to USE your chair, get one with a study (metal) frame. I don't blame barton for designing a chair to meet this lower pricepoint, I blame myself for being foolish enough to buy it and expecting it to last.

Worth the price
It's an awesome chair for basically a $100 I mean it looks great and the ability to raise the arms is better than simply pushing them down. I had a little manufacturing problem when setting up the chair but nothing that a hammer couldn't fix lol so hopefully you dnt have the same problem (it should take about 20-35mins to set up the chair properly)The draw-back : Although, I'm a slim guy at 5'10 176lbs I sit on my ass for hours at a time and the ass cushion could definitely be better. Also, I get the feeling that after two years you'll need a new chair. With that said if you're not trynna spend 160 plus bucks then this is an awesome chair and you should love it.

Arm brackets do break. Seat base is particle board, which over time, WILL break.
Well, I've had it for a little over a year - and it worked for that year. Then the metal bracket broke on the outermost screw on the left arm rest, which keeps the back upright. I looked into it a bit further, and no only did the bracket break; but the entire wood base cracked. If you want a chair for 6 months to a year? This would be a good deal. I mean, it's only $100. For $100/year, I'd be okay with it. It has served its purpose. However, if you can save up for a few more days, weeks, months - I'd go with something a bit mores sturdy. It'll be cheaper for you in the long run.

Don’t Buy!! Get a milk crate because this is a horrible purchase
Chair is garbage I’ve had it 6-8 months now and since putting together the wheels will not stay together/on also the piston stopped holding air within a few days I feel like I was robbed buying this

It Could Easily Be 5 Stars
What would make this chair a 5 starrer is:adjustable armrestsofter foammore importantly, a metal frameall in all not a bad choice though it looks nice in my blue themed office

BROKE AFTER 6 MONTHS
First six months--liked the chair. After the sixth month, the metal bracket split in two places leaving the chair leaning back (way back) and tilted to one side. The chair is no longer usable in this condition. The bracket looks to be cheap metal so I don't expect much luck with having it welded. Used by person 160lbs. Should last longer that this. VERY DISAPPOINTED!!!!

Broke within 5 months
I purchased this in March of 2017, it is now September, and the plastic arms that hold the back onto the base have snapped, hurling me backwards onto the floor. Extremely disappointing.I weigh 220 pounds, and am 6'4". The chair fit me perfectly, so I was looking forward to using it for a long time. But then it snapped, without warning. I had tightened the bolts every month, just to be safe......

You get what you pay for.
This chair was about what I had expected (maybe a little less) for the price. Let's start with the shipping first. The packaged arrived in good time but was actually 2 boxes taped together, the parts were wrapped in a thin bubble wrap (most of them anyway) and they were loose inside the "box". I noticed a couple of scratches that may have occurred in shipping, however, there were marks indicating that one or two of the parts had been used before and were not new.The chair assembled well but there were no instructions included. As there are 2 different sizes of screws this left me to guess but it seemed obvious that the shorter ones were to attach the base to the bottom of the chair and the longer ones were to attach the arms.As for the quality, the material is decent without any manufacturing issues and the chair is quite comfortable. The arms and the base are made out of plastic but appear to be sturdy, they also pivot up quite well but are a bit awkward once up.

One of the best chairs in this price range...
This is a preliminary review as I just received, assembled and started using this chair. Delivery was fast as usual with the vast majority of Amazon’s suppliers. The box containing the chair was ripped at two places in the bottom. No parts were missing but there was a scratch on one of the branches of the wheel base of the chair (Could have happened during transport as indicated by the packaging condition). The scratch was small and close to the middle so it’s not very apparent. It took less than a half hour to assemble the chair but I can easily understand why someone that is not mechanically inclined could have serious problems with the assembly. No tools required safe for a rubber or plastic hammer to drive in the base wheels, as the only required assembly tool is supplied. The instructions are to say the least minimal, pictures only with no text and no indication of the correct sequence. The seat and backrest threaded inserts where the bolts are inserted and screwed were covered with the leatherette material that must be stretched and pulled down to free the way. Otherwise bolt alignment is difficult and could lead to cross-threading if not damage to the chair material. The armrests seat/backrest bolt/insert alignment is poor and thus all bolts must be in and loosely threaded before tightening. No indication of this in the instructions. There are some threads protruding out of leatherette stitching that should be cut with a sharp razor blade to avoid any possibility of pulling the stitch with consecutive DE-stitching. The chair seat is firm but comfortable. The backrest offer some lumbar and shoulder support but for someone my height (6”2””) the head rest is no more than a neck rest, still very appreciated when leaning back. The seat height adjustment is sufficient and the arm rests offer good support at a correct angle. I’ll give additional feedback on comfort and durability after using the chair for a few months. So far four stars seems adequate considering the assembly and finish issues.

It's exactly what I would expect from a knock-off racer style chair for $135
It's exactly what I would expect from a knock-off racer style chair for $135 (CAD).I'm pretty small (5'2" and 130 lbs) and this chair is just a bit too big for me. The arm rests are pretty much unusable for me as they sit too high in relation to my desktop (and therefor keyboard and mouse) even with the chair itself being at it's lowest setting. With that said, it's actually pretty comfortable with the armrests out of the way.I put this chair together myself in about 30 minutes. Screwing the seat to the armrests was my biggest hurdle due to the aforementioned petite frame. It's pretty apparent that it's cheaply made by the quality of the materials but for less than $200 Im not going to complain *too* much.

Adjustable arm rests? Yes please.
This is one of those really conflicting reviews where the product has just the most amazing features, but lacking in quality...what can i say? It's super comfy, and the adjustable armrest makes this the holy grail of gaming chairs since I love crossing my legs on the chair and I can just move the armrests up when I do. The back and butt support is excellent and firm, and I haven't had any problems with it mechanically. The only short coming it suffers from is the quality of the faux leather, especially on the handles. I noticed after a few months that the leather has been chaffed off because when I push in my chair the handle would hit the edge of my desk (after a while I guess it wore off).
