Not a single review from someone who actually bought it? Nothing strange about that, I guess.

I have tried quite a few FM xmiters and this is easily my most favorite. It looks great, is solidly built, and once installed and oriented is fairly intuitive to operate, which is great, in light of the fact the instructions are rather lacking even compared to the usual found for a low-end import product, apparently hand printed and cut. But that’s really a small complaint, the unit works great, is reasonably priced, and I have tested far, far worse indeed. It fits the cigarette lighter perfectly, if even a bit too snugly, my 21 year old cig lighter socket is a bit wobbly so while I don’t plan on removing it too often, but it stays where you plug it. It’s positioned basically right out of the box in a perfect orientation, something not many of these devices seem to be able to do from my panel, the gearshift and transfer case levers usually get in the way.But even so, the stalk- er, as they call it, “hose”- can swing a few degrees to better orient it, and it stays put. I found cranking it up and out a few degrees fine tuned it The center knob falls easily to hand, and even though it won’t get much use in my case it shows a smart design. The other two control buttons are also easily reached above and to either side of the “multifunction button.”I tuned it to a low end FM frequency and it came through loud and clear, the quality was impressive and I could hardly tell it was an FM signal.I first tried it with my ancient iPod Classic, not having Bluetooth capabilities (and adapters I have found to be horrid) I ran it via cable through the Aux In jack, the sound was as good as anything I have ever heard from my system.I don’t have a smart phone, but it paired and worked quite well with my vintage flip, the audio quality was loud and clear, but as I have found the microphone is not really that sensitive or ideally placed- one of my tests is a voice controlled road condition system, and I found while parked, windows up in my garage it had trouble recognizing the commands. Only if I leaned in close would it respond; I have my doubts as to the result when I try it at interstate speed. A call to my answering machine was also likewise difficult to make out from the seated position but not so bad from in close. It would clearly be best used in a newer and better insulated auto, one from the in-between period before these devices became pretty much standard as built-in.Bluetooth wise it works just as well, and while my stock Toyota sound system was not even state of the art in 1995, it still sounds a lot better than I expected. I used my iPad with a Wi Fi connection running Pandora and the tone and volume were great, almost better than broadcast signal. It’s a little different control wise, the unit’s volume knob does not activate my devices volume directly but only the radio; I had nor seen this in others I have tested. In a way its nice, I can get distortion-level loudness that I know is 110%The only issues I have ever had in the past with these devices is signal loss on road trips, as I passed through different regions a previously unused part of the bandwidth would suddenly be filled with someone telling me how to save my soul and Albert King would be gone.So far, not so with this unit- which is great, I abandoned hope for the concept after trying to find an unused slot that would stay that way for more than 80 miles. But thanks to the illuminated channel change button, it’s a lot easier to search out an unused slot. This unit suffers from lack of presets, but few I have seen have them- even ones that boast auto-seek and lock never seemed to work as hoped, or advertised. The input jack is also listed as an output jack, although I have not been able to prove it.It also boasts a TF slot (MicroSD for the rest of us) which is a nice to know thing, but given the size of the chips, it’s an invitation to lose. It is a nice way to have sort of a built-in playlist, of course depending on the memory size it could easily fill my 4 hour commutes with tunes. Easily controlled by the three main controls of the unit. I am seriously considering picking up a spare chip just for this purpose. It reads any MP3 file on the chip in no apparent order that I can determine, but it's a nice feature.I have noticed several seemingly identical units offered from different vendors, I can’t speak for the others but this one, provided to me by Murraya in exchange for this review, worked better than I expected and I can heartily recommend it.

Needs better instructions, but with a bit of fiddling connected in a 1998 Lexus through the cigarette lighter outlet
First, it comes in a neatly packed box with the gizmo, an audio cord and instructions. Limited but seemed straight forward (cept for typos).Said in instructions under "Power-on" number 3, "Turn on car FM stereo and adjust the frequency same as that of the device."The device said as the photo shows "FM108.0". You can adjust this to whatever channel you wish. Nothing told me that, but the vendor said you could...so I retried and yes, could. But then what. It connected easily to a Samsung Galaxy phone, older model 5? But nothing tells you how to do the rest. So again, fiddle and trial and error (lots of error) and it finally connected.Nice feature is the USB outlet, so can plug phone in to recharge. It is a good idea for older cars without access to Pandora or calling through the speakers BUT there is a serious issue with HOW to set up and I am very tech savvy. I'd suggest a better written instruction or a youtube link showing how. Or both. I don't love it, I like it. And as I was offered this to test and be honest, gave it 4 stars.
