Perfectly Worked for Honda Pilot 2014
After replacing a few gaskets and seals to fix an oil leak in my 2014 Honda Pilot, the VTM-4 and engine lights started appearing. Despite multiple computer resets, the mechanic eventually diagnosed a faulty sensor that needed replacement. The original sensor was significantly more expensive—about 4.5 times the cost of this one. After checking the local and used parts market, I found this sensor on Amazon. A friend recommended buying from Amazon instead of the local or used market, so I decided to order it. The sensor arrived before the expected delivery date, well-packaged and secure. It fits perfectly and works flawlessly in my Honda Pilot 2014. Highly recommended 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Installed on my 2008 Honda Accord V6. No problems so far and have driven about 500k. Used the original bolts, as the new bolts do seem to be of lesser quality. Torqued to 6 lbs. Tried using new cheap gaskets before purchasing the new solenoid, but it kept leaking oil. The problem probably is if the solenoid is malfunctioning the pressure is too high, hence why replacing the gaskets doesn't work and the oil leaks continue. Hopefully the Dorman will last. Much cheaper than the Honda OEM.

This fixed my P3497 code problem that I created when I replaced the gasket for the original VVT that was leaking oil all over my alternator. Though the aftermarket gaskets would solve the oil leak, they were also not made of the right material and were flaking apart at the seams causing the VVT to get gummed up with gasket material thus randomly throwing the P3497 code. The gaskets that came with this one did not show any seam, they were molded perfectly. I went ahead and replaced everything that was included. Dorman hit a home run by packaging all the gaskets, plate and alignment pins with bolts in this replacement part. Torqued to 104 inch pounds (104 in lbs), reconnected all the wires and away I went. Warning 1: DO NOT use Hondabond High-Temp Silicone Liquid Gasket or any other gasket maker, sealer or silicone. The flow of oil is pressurized and will take small pieces of the gasket material residue along with the oil flow and can jam up the VVT, causing you to replace the VVT again. The gasket itself will seal just fine. Warning 2: Torque to 104 INCH pounds, not foot pounds (104 inch lbs to converted to ft lbs is about 8.6 ft lbs). You need a special torque wrench for inch torque in this range, if you can't find one at your local auto parts store and don't want to buy one on Amazon check out a bicycle shop. Try to get a click-stop or electric torque wrench that clearly indicates you reached the torque. I personally own a CDI 2502MRMH 3/8″ drive 30 to 250 inch lbs model - shipped and sold by Amazon, CDI is a high quality torque wrench brand owned by Snap-On.
