Mad Water Waterproof Sportsman's Backpack

It is a strong bag. I have had it fully submerged for almost 2 hours trying to get it and my canoe out of a strainer, it kept all my gear that i needed for the next 3 days perfectly dry. But because of the shoulder straps and back pad you have to have a certain amount of gear in the bag for it to actually work. That is not a problem for me but I did not think about that before I bought it and is something for you to keep in mind. These straps and back pad though are very comfortable and make this bag great for day hikes if it is raining. also the elastic cords on the back do absolutely nothing. They are not strong enough to hold anything, I tried to use them to help compress the bag slightly smaller, not strong enough.PROs:waterproofcomfystrongCONs:certain amount of gear neededpointless elastic/weightslightly heavy for a day pack (also fairly unimportant to me)

So I have been waiting to write this review... Two days after I got this bag I noticed that the very corner of the top seam holding the shoulder strap on had started to unravel. I live in the Great NorthWest and do not pamper my gear. I expected it to need repair in a short amount of time, and thus would have been the driving point of my review.Well... It has not progressed any further. The shoulder strap is as solid as the day it arrived! Would I buy this bag again, would I recommend it to others? YES! Great size, very comfortable, and most of all waterproof!

This is a quality waterproof drybag you can wear as a backpack, a great deal for the ~ $50 I paid. Only con is not enough padding at the bottom of the pack.Drybag/Waterproofness: The beige material has the same texture as canvas and feels moist to the touch when soaked in water, but the contents of the pack always remain dry. The black material feels like rubber. You close the pack just like you would a drybag, by rolling up the top and securing it with plastic buckles. Like any drybag, you do not want to immerse this in water, but it will float on water if there is air trapped inside. Like any drybag, there are no zippered side compartments -- just one big waterproof compartment to put things in.Backpack/Wearability: There are 2 straps to wear over your shoulder, one to buckle across your chest, and one to buckle across your waist. There is just enough padding for this to be comfortable against your back without adding too much weight. All the straps are adjustable, and there are elastic bands to prevent the excess strap from getting tangles. It is overall quite comfortable to wear and move around in, but it would be nice if there were some padding on the very bottom of the pack too. Sometimes rectangular things at the bottom (e.g. laptop, book) poke be in the back.Durability: I have owned this for over a year now and it is still in going strong. Some of the sewing on one of the two main straps that go over my shoulder is coming undone, this is probably because I always swing the pack over my shoulder using that strap. There are some pinholes in the bottom from storing things like pens inside the back, see my above comment about the bottom needing more padding.

Upon opening the backpack and looking inside I found a shining light coming through the bottom. When I reached for the light I noticed, sure enough it was the lining! Not only was the lining coming apart but i was able to reach my whole fist through the hole, and the seams are glued together (weak, cheap glue), and that is the only means of bonding so now the entire bag can be easy pulled apart by a 2 year old. I guess I should have made sure I wasn't buying from a company selling cheap Chinese manufactured goods. Don't buy this bag, it might be together when you receive it but one snag will tear it apart like it's nothing.

LOTS OF ROOM IN THIS PACK. HAS NO POCKETS OR ANYTHING INSIDE. NO POCKETS ON THE OUTSIDE EITHER. VERY LIGHT AND WATERPROOF. GAVE IT FOUR STARS..COULD USE AN INSIDE POCKET OR OUTSIDE ADDITIONAL POCKET. TOP ROLL DOWN IS OK..WORKS BEST WHEN PACK IS ALMOST FULL. THE LIGHT COLOR IS GREAT IN THE SUN..WILL NOT GET TOO HOT AND WILL NOT COOK THE CONTENTS INSIDE TOO MUCH. NOT BREATHABLE SO YOUR STINKY T-SHIRT AFTER SWEATING WILL SMELL UP THE PACK ONCE PUT INSIDE. VERY COMFORTABLE TO WEAR..PADDED SHOULDER STRAPS ARE VERY WELL PADDED. HAS ADJUSTABLE WAIST BELT ALSO. RECOMMENDED.

this backpack was pretty awesome.it gets kinda uncomfortable if you have a big shoulder.for those who wonder what it looks inside, its just empty, nothing in there.if you wanna big, waterproof backpack, this is a fine one to get.

Went through some rough water on a canoeing trip and the bag went overboard. Not a drop of moisture on my sleeping bag, hammock or clothes. Saved the day.

Took to Panamas rainy season and all was good inside! And for wonderful compliments ! Great back and shoulder support !
