Yes. They don't require the pill to be scored to cut smoothly.

Will this cut pills 3/4” in diameter?

I'm guessing here, but the cutting area is about 3/4" across and is curved. The tablet must be placed in the curved cutter so that both sides of the curve contact the tablet on both sides. If it does, then the cutter cuts the most straight, even cut of any cutters I have tried. If it is not so placed the cut will be uneven. I hope that helps.

Can you use this to trim pet nails?

I would definitely not recommend using these to trim the nails on a medium or large pet. With the way that the blades are shaped, it's conceivable that they might work on a small pet with skinny nails. But I would still recommend using cutters that are designed for pet nails.

Does this scissor find the center line ?

There isn't anything that automatically guides the scissors blade to the pill's center, but it isn't difficult to align. You might need to practice a bit, but it's not hard to get a hang of it, unless the pills are really tiny. Just make sure to not to cut yourself.
