Prepared to be scared.
Everyone likes a good ghost story. We don’t want to believe that they are true, but what if they are?It seems like in the fall and the days are getting shorter and the nights longer, the air changes. We are in our houses more and we start paying more attention to the sounds and creaks that we hear.As I was reading “True Ghost Stories: Jim Harold’s Campfire 5,” I could not help but jump a few times.I listen to his podcast where people share their ghost stories, and I can tell you that most people sound very sincere about what has happened in the stories that they share. There are some nights when I am a little reluctant to turn off the lights. This book and his others are based on those stories. He has even produced an adult coloring book too!All five of the books in this series are stand alone books. Every single one of them is very good.

The Spooks Continue!!!
I have read all five Campfire books and they are all excellent reads within themselves! Each is a very well composed complication of stories from your typical ghost story to the occasional UFO story you may have never heard of! I highly recommend Jim's books if you are looking for anything to share around your own campfire to snuggling into bed on a dark, rainy night! I really like the "author's note" he writes as a Segway to some stories as well! He will typically begin and end a book with the most shocking or truly interesting stories! I'm a loyal Campfire podcast listener as well! Stay Spooky Jim! This is yet another slam dunk!

Spooky assortment
I loved these little short memories. Good for when you have a couple of minutes, and they either give you a chill or make you think. Plus it was a treat seeing Poestenkill in the book, as I am from there! You can't toss an apple core without hitting a haunted house. There is one story which reminded me of Welcome to Nightvale, and it is a fine thing to think that is true. And this is the first time I've heard telegraph telephone tell an aunt since my mom said it!

Jim Harold Strikes Paranormal Gold Yet Again!
Jim Harold strikes gold again with some of the best stories yet. It's such a pleasure reading these stories that come straight from his high-quality podcast. Best part is that you don't have to read these books in any order, as all the stories are frightening and perfect for the Halloween season. Check out this latest volume and work your way back to the first book!

Fun Stories to Read Before Bed
I love these little stories. There isn't much depth. They aren't anything you haven't heard variations of before. They're all short. But they're great little true ghost stories. I've read every volume of these. Love reading them before bed. They make me sleepy and dreamy. My only other comment is -- no way this book is 180 pages. That's okay. The price is right. But I'd put it more at 120-140.

Loved it!
I absolutely love the Campfire books! They are such a refreshing change from other "true" paranormal encounter books out there. I highly recommend this and all of Jim's other Campfire books! And if you are so inclined, check out his podcasts as well!

Another wonderful tome....
.....of the scary, uncanny, thought-provoking, happy, sad, disturbing, etc., stories that Jim Harold deals with on a daily basis. Five stars, for sure (how anyone could give less is beyond me, but there's always a few that aren't happy, no matter how good of a book it is. Oh well, their loss....). I simply cannot wait until future editions are released!!! Thanks, Mr, Harold!!!

Best stories all in one place
Read his series. Loved them all. Jim also had a great podcast. Many out there, but his far exceeds them all. You won’t be disappointed.

MIXED BAG
Interesting how many of these stories contain words along the lines of "I was awake but couldn't move" or "it's like I was paralysed". This is actually called "sleep paralysis"- it's a physiological condition, often accompanied by hallucinatory dreams but with nothing supernatural about it. However the individuals concerned have certainly had unpleasant experiences which are reported honestly and sincerely. On the other hand, the "black-eyed" kids stories which appear in this book belong to a genre generally regarded as a hoax. There is some good stuff here. The Ouija board stories, if true, are actually quite compelling.

Very interesting
I love real life ghost stories and this came up in a search, I downloaded the free sample, then immediately bought the book to continue the reading. The stories are short and to the point and get you thinking. I am definitely going to buy the others and maybe check out the podcasts

CAMPFIRE READS
I love a good ghost story and this is no. 5 and the first one that I have read, I will be reading more of his stories as I find them interesting. I too believe in the paranormal and have a few experiences myself that I may pass on to him. There is a lot of weird things that happen in this world that we all can't possibly comprehend that the answers are hidden from us for a reason.

I Cannot wait for campfire 6!
I have read all of the campfire series in just one week. They are very easy to read and the stories flow smoothly along. So much so that I couldn't put them down and have read each book in only one or two sittings. Great stories. I Cannot wait for campfire 6. Please tell me there is going to be one.
