Question 2

Is the machine designed to support 220v power voltage? Or do I need to use a voltage convertor?

Accepted Answer

The Singer Intelligent 36T1 Steam Press  and other appliances that are made for the US market and purchased from a US vendor such as Amazon are 110/120 volts.  In order to use them abroad you most often will need to purchase a transformer.  Unfortunately we DO NOT recommend that a transformer be used on electronic/computerized products.   It is our experience that when using a transformer there are too many fluctuations in the voltage causing irregular surges.  For this reason we cannot guarantee that you will be able to use this press in a country that uses 220/240 volts. You need to be aware that should you connect this press to a transformer and the wiring is damaged, you will be responsible for any parts and labor to repair the machine, as using a transformer voids the warranty.   These items were intended for sale in North America only.

Does it lock when closed while pressing?

Accepted Answer

No  The Singer Intelligent model 36T1 Steam Press will not lock when closed while pressing.  Locking can only be accomplished manually by lowering the  pressing plate down and turning the locking knob to “Lock” position.  The press should never be locked until completely cooled down per instructions in the manual.

This is causing brown stains on my brand new white sheets.  I only bought this machine in March!  Why is it doing this??

It could be the water. Mineral content can wreak havoc including staining. I would not fault the press without first changing the source of your water. Give it a shot! Hope it helps.
