Installed this heat strip and a new gasket. Checked voltage and it is 110v as specified. Strip runs way to hot and burned the $120 gasket to the freezer door. I used an IR thermometer and it was putting out 151 degrees to the metal frame at the point where the damage took place. This is a fire hazard and a defective product. DO NOT BUY!!

I got this freezer door heater. after installation i notice that the line is getting very hot. cant even touch it and it is hot enough to melt the plastic parts of the door.

I purchased the heated wire for my freezer door for our restaurant, hoping to prevent ice buildup during the winter months. Unfortunately, this product turned out to be a complete disaster. Within just a few months of installation, I noticed a strange smell coming from the area, and before I could react, the wire actually caught fire!I can't stress enough how dangerous this product is. Not only did it create a fire hazard in my Restaurant , but it also put my employees at risk. I had to quickly disconnect it and call for help to ensure everything was safe again. The manufacturer's instructions were unclear, and I felt that there was no adequate warning about the potential risks involved with using this heated wire.

Lasted less than one year. Ran very hot, too hot to the touch. Running 120v.Same as other reviews.

For the price, you simply cannot beat it! Works great and $70 cheaper than ordering from SS Kemp, FMP or Etundra. The only downside is it was shipped in the box, not in a nice and neat coil like the $120 one have been so it was a pain to get all the knots and kinks out. It also did not come with the metal tape the $120 version from other suppliers includes.Update: heater just stopped working after 2 months can't seem to find contact info for return.
