Perfect for keeping cozy on long flights
I am generally a person that gets cold very easily. I wear lots of layers and I am always cuddling under blankets. Knowing that I get cold easily, I got this blanket for my trip to Ireland from Seattle WA. In all I used this blanket over 30 hours and it served it's purpose well. Our trip was nine days and our goal (both of us women) was to pack our belongings into a small carry on and small hand bag. So when we started to look for travel accessories. Light weight, small and easily packable were all requirements. I was a bit skeptical when I read reviews that said it was a thin blanket and that the reviewers returned it, but I was able to purchase a new but returned blanket at a good price, so I figured it was worth trying. Yes the blanket is thin, but soft, LARGE and WARM. It kept me cozy the entire flight covering me from toes to neck. My mom purchased a fleece blanket. When she first pulled hers out, I will admit I was a little jealous, but she was cold the entire time we were on the plane, even using the complementary blanket to try and stay warm. I was able to use the complimentary blanket provided on the plane as lumbar support because I didn't need any extra layers to keep me warm. The blanket is light weight and folds up into a small roll that fits into a draw string carry case made out of mesh and nylon that comes with the blanket. It is slightly larger than a can of soda all packed up, but again it is light weight. So all this to say don't let other reviews scare you off. I really think that they may have gotten the blanket, saw that it was thin and assumed that it could not do the job. But from my experience I feel like it did the perfect job. Oh on a side note...the word cocoon would lead some to believe that this is almost like a sleeping bag...it is not...it is a blanket.

Perfectly packable solution for cold-natured people
Ahhhh, the joys of being cold-natured. People around you are complaining about how hot they are; meanwhile, you're slowly losing sensation in your toes. You try to make sure you always layer-up, but sometimes you just need that one more layer to make the difference, or maybe you're going to be dealing with multiple different temperatures over the day and don't want to have to lug a coat everywhere you go. If that sounds like you, you need to buy one of these fantastic little blankets. Now, let me start out by saying that this is NOT a quilt, or insulated blanket, or thick fleece. If you are going to be somewhere COLD such as sitting on the bleachers at a windswept ball game, this is not going to keep you warm. This is an extra-layer blanket that is designed to make the difference between being comfortable and being just that little bit too cold that makes you miserable, such as a car ride where someone is blasting the air conditioning. For that purpose, it works great! Here's a breakdown: Size: The size is really nice! Opened full it can pretty much cover all of you in a sitting configuration. Folded in half it can provide a thicker layer that just covers your lap or upper body. Fabric: This is a lightweight synthetic knit with a nice drape. The hand-feel is very smooth; this isn't one of those ghastly fabrics that catches on every little roughness in your skin. Portability: It folds and rolls up very easily (unlike some products that once you get them out of their storage bag you can never get them back in). The stored size is just a smidge bigger than a can of soda, making it a great size to stash in a purse or keep in your car or desk. Care: I'll admit that I haven't washed my entire blanket yet, but it spot-cleaned quite successfully with soap and water and the fabric wears well, not picking up a lot of lint. Versatility: Not gonna lie, this is the biggie for me. I bought my blanket originally because I like to have a throw blanket for the room when I travel. It worked great for that purpose, but because it's so easy to throw it in my car as a just-in-case, I've found myself finding even more uses for it beyond mere travel blanket. It's also saved me an extra clothing layer when I misjudged the weather; because the fabric is so fine and drapey, it can be used as a scarf or shawl with no one being the wiser. I've hung it up to block an annoyingly in-my-eyes sunbeam. I've draped it over the carrier at the vet's office to help calm my cat. Basically, what you're buying is a large piece of fabric that folds up really small, and that can be a super-handy thing to have. So handy that I've already bought a second one!

huge, warm, snuggly
These are my favorite travel blankets. Light, thin, but can keep you fairly warm and cozy when needed.

definitely recommend
i purchased the charcoal color in the spring of 2016 for long air travel, i hate using the airplane blankets. i really liked that this came with a carrying case, and the blanket can be rolled up to a decently small size and fit in my backpack with plenty of room to spare for my other things. the blanket is very thin and lightweight, but surprisingly warm. NOT fleece warm, but a nice extra layer to retain some body heat. i like it so much, that i use it in the car when traveling, and use as a light blanket in hotel rooms when taking a nap. super convenient to bring, always in my backpack when traveling, and launders very well.

This blanket is large, lightweight, soft and warm - perfect for airplane travel. I also liked that it was easy to get it back into the compact carry bag. Worth the money.

great travel blanket for all occasions
My original use for this blanket was for a trip I was taking in Africa. I would be living there for several months and knew it was going to be warm so I didn't want to have a thick bulky sleeping bag to I took this as well as a sleeping bag liner with me. And I'm so glad I did. The blanket is soft and light but on the cooler nights kept me warm enough and then when it heated up, I did not overheat under it's fibers. In addition when I came back from Africa it was winter in the States and I had very little warm clothing with me so while I was in the airplane and airport, I used the blanket as a blanket but also rolled it into a scarf. I could also see this a great throw for around the house, on a roadtrip, camping or even at the office. The best part is there is no fuss of rolling it up and trying to fit it into the sack, it just stuffs right in there and you can throw that into whatever bag you have or clip it to the outside. So happy with my purchase!

I wanted to love it…but not worth $50!!!!
When I got the blanket I was impressed by the small size of the packaging. My photo comparison is next to an iPhone pro max. I would say the blanket in package is just a little larger than a coke can. It’s impressively small!! It is also easy to fold /roll and put back into its pouch, so I think it is pretty easy to use. However….the reviews make it sound like the blanket is HUGE….but that’s not my perspective. I am 5’ 8” and sat down on my couch with it. It touches my toes and I can pull it up to my neck, but if I moved at all my feet won’t stay covered. I want a travel blanket for a 3 month trip through Europe and the point is for me to be fully covered on a train, plane and automobile… but I would have to stay straight and still seated to keep my feet covered. I have done a lot of research….thought for the price it had to be the one! But, alas, this is not the one for me. The quality of the fabric is also not impressive. For $50 I was thinking there must be some special nanotechnology (just kidding…I don’t really know what that means….) but something that would make this material obviously superior. If I didn’t know this was a $50 blanket I would say it looks like a super thin t shirt material and should cost $5 to produce. I’m not trying to be nasty, i mean that with sincerity. I am just not convinced at all that this material could possibly be this expensive to produce! It doesn’t feel or look high quality to me. It is super soft and very lightweight, so there is that. Overall, for $50 I was expecting a lot more. It gets 3 stars because it is impressively small packaging for the overall size of the blanket, but it’s not quite big enough for me at 5’8”, is too thin and I just can’t convince myself that this blanket is worth $50! I will be returning.

worth every penny
I took this into the Amazonian jungle for a little extra warmth on cool nights. This blanket offered a tremendous amount of warmth for its weight and was the only thing I carried that didn't feel wet from the humidity. It's a good, solid investment for lightweight travel.

Handy essential
This is a definite travel essential for long flights, or any journey you may need a little extra warmth. More and more these days travel comfort is enhanced when you self cater, a blanket for extra warmth is no exception. Easy to pack, light weight and washes quite well on a quick cycle up to 40 degrees. It feels thin but definitely delivers on warmth. Size wise it is comparable to a extra large beach towel . I'm 5'6" and I can cover myself fully up to shoulders when laying flat. Folded in half also good as a throw. Easy to fold when you need to restow it in the handy pouch.
