Superfly

The soundtrack to the movie "Superfly" by Curtis Mayfield is a classic blend of soul, blues and funk all rolled into one. Out of all the great music Mayfield wrote and performed during his career this album just has to be the highlight of that career. I have never seen the movie "Superfly" itself and I am sure it is probably a good film but I have listened to the soundtrack for that film many times and it is always a pure joy to listen too. And really you don't have to have seen the film to get down with the groove and soul of this album. All the songs on here stand up on their own without needing a movie to justify what the songs are about. Whether you have seen the film or if like me you have never seen "Superfly" I can highly recommend this album as pure enjoyment to listen to.

This was a feast for the ears from the funk of the 70s. Curtis Mayfield was masterful in his story telling in music and lyrics. There was a power in the syncing of this excellent music performance.

Nice red vinyl and a cool die-cut sleeve that folds over (just like the original). Sounds good, too.

Album in excellent playing condition considering the age of the album.

Incredible from start to finish, plus the actual vinyl material is high quality. A must-have for any Curtis Mayfield fan.

bellissimo album del grandissimo curtis mayfield. ottima rsitampa, unica nota dolente la copertina che in questa edizione è stata ristampata diversamente dall'edizione originale che aveva il cartoncino con la scritta superfly apribile davanti e dietro, per il resto un grande disco da avere per tutti gli amanti del genere.

A great movie soundtrack and stand alone album. Curtis Mayfield at his very soulfunk best.
