excellent cd
I like a variety of music but am not an adroit critic. That said,I like Lucia from KMFDM,MDFMKand From The Land of Volcanoes , she has an effective voice and a feminine deportment mixed with an equally feminine rocker pugnaciousness which im mad for :) Oh Lordy Loo must this girl need a lozenge after singing the songs on this disk. Its like primal scream therapy without the therapy. The song 'I Like You' is INSANE!!! and would make a nifty jingle for a Xanex commercial. She married KMFDM founder Sascha Konietzko and I both envy and pity this man and suspect he sleeps with one eye open. :) LOL The music is good but its her vital and potent voice that makes this disc come alive.

Lucia Cifarelli's true talent shines through on this album. I wish she'd pursued her solo career rather than falling in with KMFDM.

great album!
This is an album by the band DRILL, which was a side project of the female member of KMFDM, (I can't remember her name off hand). Great album. Her vocals are a bit odd though. A friend commented that she sounds like a goat when she sings. lol

Drill: Hard rock from the 1990's.
I didn't know what to expect from this CD as I believed I was getting a new age/industrial album (mistaked Drill for Noise Unit). Whilst I was kicking myself for getting the wrong album I decided to give it a go and after the first listen I needed to know more about this band. Well the band is no-longer around having split and gone their separate ways - however the lead vocalist's voice was unique and actually gave me mixed feelings. Lucia Finarelli's voice has awesome talent and is up their with the likes of Amy Lee and Ellie of Killing Heidi. One moment she is screaming down the mic (quite sexily I might add) and the next she is whispering and singing with deep emotion. Wow what a voice. Drill's only success was Lucia - she was the driving force and with that voice, who couldn't agree?Yes at times the screaming of the lyrics can be out of hand but this band is of the Hard Rock genre of the 1990's where they were pitted against the giants likes of Metalica, ACDC and NOFX. The two best songs for me on this decent album were 'Butterfly' one of the more softer songs of this album and 'Could You Care' more industrial and a good ending to this 13 track CD.

Lucia is unlike any other..........
I first heard Drill on The Empire Records Soundtrack. The whole cd is really good, but Drill stood out with their track "What You Are". The version on the soundtrack is much shorter than the cd version. I finally found the cd (I had to buy a used copy myself). I was not disappointed. Lucia's vocals are amazing and the songs are well written. She is able to scream and then also achieve her other vocals as well, showing her range. My personal favs include "What You Are", "Go To Hell", "I Like You," and "Over And Out." Drill is no more, but if you crave more of Lucia Cifarelli you can purchase the MDFMK album (2000), as well as the KMFDM albums released after the MDFMK album. A must have (along with this Drill cd) will be her solo album released by Universal titled "From the Land of Volcanos." She is one of the hardest working & underappreciated women of rock out there! I've seen here in concert with KMFDM several times and she doesn't disappoint in the live arena either!

amazing vocals make this album
It's a shame such a great band got dropped from their label. Lucia has now moved on to MDFMK/KMFDM of course, but this material can more hold its own against her work with Sascha & the gang. Lucia's voice is the driving force on this album. The music is good, but with anyone else singing it wouldn't work nearly as well. Lucia can scream. Sure anyone can do that, but she can scream and make it sound sexy. She goes from metal screams to soft singing in a heartbeat and somehow the two blend together seemlessly, giving a great effect. This is intense stuff, but at the same time highly melodic and listenable. The best songs are "i like you", "screamer" and "innuendo", but there's no duds here, every track is intensely listenable. If you can find a copy, this album is well worth picking up, as is the MDFMK album and anything else with Lucia Cifarelli's voice on it.

A great rarity!
At first, I had mixed feelings about the voice of the lead singer. After several more listens, I understood why. She has a unique style of expression. It's not a bad thing, but very much appreciated. I agree with one other review on here (that she could do without the yeah, uh huh parts). Great stuff, nonetheless. Great bass lines, too! The bassist doesn't stay still!
