I have used this for a longbow grip, and it works great! I treated the leather with Neatsfoot oil, so it was darkened to a chocolate brown and conditioned to repel sweat from my hand. Looks great, IMHO. You get exactly what is shown in the current photos: an unfinished leather grip with leather thread. (There is one photo that shows customized grips with stamped textures, which require special leather tools to create).

This is total junk! Don't waste your money on this! If you want to wrap your walking stick with leather, go to a craft store like Michael's and purchase your items for that. I bought this product and was disappointed with it because it's too small for a walking stick and just cheap looking. The leather is stiff, hard and not worth the expense. I wrapped a walking stick with Paracord (see u-tube) and its appearance was much better and offered a better grip.

I've been wanting to write this review for some time, this is a great item and I like it. Easy directions for a cool stitch pattern. I read reviews before I bought it, some said it was cheaply made but it's not the case, it's a soft leather I would describe it as being more like lambskin leather. I like it a lot I'm glad I got it.

It was a little small for my stick, but i think it will be fine. The lacing leather broke while I was lacing it. I was able to move the lacing around and line it up.

The pictures of this are misleading. Thankfully, I read a review explaining such before I ordered. That being said, this is a plain piece of leather. Any design/decoration will need to be done by you. Luckily, Im not too worried about style, I just needed something to absorb the sweat from my hand on my walking stick. This does the job. *Note - Use caution when lacing it up, the leather string is easily torn in half if you pull too hard.

Worked great for my walking stick project. Wrapped around 1.3" sector. Leather cord is sturdy and uniform. Leather has a finished surface. Holes spaced evenly.

I have a young tree from my yard that didn’t make it. Just the right size for hiking stick. I love this leather wrap. I carved my name down it and use to walk around my uneven yard!

After I received an empty package, Amazon was great in waiving the 1-day shipping and sent a replacement (I did receive 1 day later). The picture is very misleading. I was expecting three in the package and of different colors and patterns. It is plain leather with no stamps or color. Plus it did not fit my walking stick. The description should state the size and diameter. It is 5 inches long and it will fit sticks with a 1-inch diameter. Mine is 1-1/4 inch and it leaves a gap. So if anyone can recommend a source for pre-stamped and/or pre-stained leather grips, please post.

Leather is thin but seems supple enough. The leather string is horribly thin (broke easy when pulled to tighten). In the end I did get it on and waterproofed the leather. Feels good in the hand. Just note you don't know what colour you get until it arrives. Overall it's a, meh.

40 dollars for 1 piece of untreated leather and some leather twine.
