Stops toilet from overflowing
My downstairs bathroom toilet overflowed twice due to septic tank backing up. I installed this and now I never need to worry about the toilet overflowing, ruining my flooring. Very easy to install in you know how. Easy to maintain. Wish I did this years ago. Very good quality. Works perfect. Fits perfect. Silent operation does not restrict flow.

O ring problem
The seal on flapper was gone when opened to see why wasn't working need new o ring

What You Would Expect - Loose O-Ring on the Flap
This back flow preventer is exactly what you would expect. The only con that I have is that the O ring that is on the flap is not permanently installed - which can be a good thing, but it does not stay on the flap well. This can lead to it not sealing properly and not doing its job. Overall, I would recommend it, but I would just caution you to make sure that the o ring is seated properly and that it doesn't fall off during install or during the first couple of uses.

Flap doesn't shut tight.
The flap is just plastic without a seal. You have hard PVC sitting on hard PVC. As a result, you have water trickling through, which defeats the purpose of this product.

I think it’s probably a great product just one was broken
I ordered 43 inch backwater preventers. The door has a tab that is broken on one of the backwater preventers. Should I send the part back or would you send me a new door/flapper?

It works great and the cap design allows easy access to the inside for inspection and cleaning.
