Smartwool City Slicker Crew Socks - Men’s Ultra Light Cushioned Merino Wool Performance Socks

I purchased these dress socks because of my positive experience with other types of socks made by this manufacturer. The quality and features of these are as expected/hoped. They seem to wear "forever", keep their shape and elasticity very well, and certainly look nice. Wool and wool blends seem to work best for me in a number of particulars - they tend to deal with sweat/moisture better than other blends (smell, blister formation, etc). Even though these will cost you more than the discount store "value pack" socks, in my opinion they are well worth the dollars spent, and (without doing the cost-benefit analysis) likely even save money with their durability.

These are great, fit my size 13 feet, comfortable, no stank, only air dry so holding up well, a bit pricey, but so far seem to be worth it, will be buying more.

Nice enough to wear to the office with a suit. With the merino blend, these can be taken on vacation and worn for more than one day without washing. Though not padded or as warm as a hiking sock, these would be comfortable to wear on a warm weather hike. A great versatile sock! At $11.46, this was a very reasaonable price.

On the SmartWool website, this model (or the one most similar) is described as 68% Merino Wool, 30% Nylon, 2% Elastane. On Amazon, it's 77% Merino Wool, 21% Nylon, 2% Elastane. Maybe I'm missing something? Whatever the composition of the socks that I received, they're pretty good. They keep my feet warm in the sub-freezing temps, but not too warm for the office. I'll probably be getting more of these... If only I knew what I was getting.

I've been looking for a merino dress sock—something durable enough for long city treks but appropriate for a work meeting. This fits the bill. When I travel, I often pack light and walk miles. I wear merino because it resists odor, wicks sweat, and provides comfort. These Smartwool socks are perfect for my work travel needs.

These socks are comfortable, warm, and breathable. They wick moisture away from your foot so keep your feet fairly dry, even for those of us whose feet sweat a lot. They are true to size. They are washable in the washing machine on cold, but need to be line dried as they shrink if dried in the drier, as one would expect of wool. The wool is not itchy.I would highly recommend these socks, both for outdoor and indoor use.

My go-to socks for three seasons. I work in an office environment. These socks are the perfect weight for work and a great substitute for traditional poly/cotton dress socks. I go with the slightly heavier weight smartwools when it drops into the low 30s. Above 80 I switch to cotton dress socks as these will feel too warm at that point. The charcoal color goes with most anything and they look classy. I also like the brown. They last about two years with regular wear when rotating with several other pairs. I rarely wash them as I've found they last much longer. I just hang them in my closet from my shoe rack to air out for a day and they hardly ever have any odor (if they do I wash them). Best socks ever made!

While I found them to be comfortable and warm, these socks wont last for too long. High priced and cheaply made. Unfortunate, really.

Sehr gute Qualität, die Smartwool City Slicker sind etwas hohe, 'dress' Socken. Die Farbe 'grau' bestellt ist aber doch schwarz, das stört mich nicht. Ich habe XL bestellt und sie sind etwas zu gross für meine 45 (US 10.5) Schuhgrosse, L wäre perfekt gewesen.

The best thing about these socks is they stay where they should, rather than ending up round your ankles! Smartwool's lightest but warm and very comfortable for spring and autumn wear. Bought to replace an earlier pair. The 50:50 wool/nylon mix should wear better than pure wool. There are cheaper socks out there but I doubt they work as well.

These socks are no good. Main problem is the height: on me they are almost (but not quite) over the calf and much taller than typical crew socks. The elastic at the top isn't strong enough to hold them up even on the first time wearing. Also the seams in the toes are big and uncomfortable. And finally, the logo is in different places on the left and right socks indicating to me that they have no quality control in their manufacturing process. Disappointing purchase especially for the price.

Ich bin schon seit Längerem ein Freund von Wollsocken, allerdings waren die 100% Merino Socken von Falke sehr schnell durchgescheuert.Darum habe ich es mit diesen probiert, in der Hoffnung, der Polyamidanteil würde Langlebigkeit bringen. Dazu kann ich noch nicht viel sagen, aber bisher halten sie sich.Das Problem ist eher, dass die Sacken lang genug sind, um bis mitte Wade zu reichen, sie halten da aber nicht und beginnen sofort zu rutschen. "Klassische Anzugsocke" ist hier wörtlich zu verstehen. Ich behaupte mal, diese Socke ist dazu gedacht, mit einem Sockenhalter getragen zu werden.Wer das so plant, sollte mit den Socken zufrieden sein, denke ich.
