I’ve been using the AMD Ryzen 5 5600G for a few months now in a general-purpose build, and it’s proven to be a very capable and well-balanced processor.Installation was straightforward on an AM4 motherboard, I used an aftermarket cooler but the included Wraith cooler would be more than fine. Out of the box, everything worked as expected with no complications.Performance-wise, the 6 cores and 12 threads handle everyday workloads, multitasking, and productivity tasks with ease. It feels responsive across the board, whether running multiple applications or handling more demanding tasks.The integrated Radeon graphics are a standout feature, especially if you’re building a system without a dedicated GPU. It’s more than capable for basic gaming, media consumption, and general use, making it a great option for budget builds or compact systems.Thermals and power consumption are also well managed. The 65W TDP keeps things efficient, and with the stock cooler, noise and temperatures stay at reasonable levels under normal use.If there’s one limitation, it’s that while the integrated graphics are very capable for what they are, they won’t replace a dedicated GPU for more demanding gaming or GPU-heavy workloads—but that’s expected at this level.Overall, the Ryzen 5 5600G is a versatile and cost-effective processor that strikes a great balance between CPU performance and integrated graphics. A strong choice for anyone building a reliable everyday system without needing a separate graphics card.

Maybe the supplier had issues with the 5600G stock, but I had a pleasant surprise when opening up my purchase, as the 5600G actually was the best mid-range CPU the 5600X! Although the Wraith Cooler was a nightmare to install onto the motherboard, the rest of the setup was painless, and I'm already seeing large gains in framerates when playing titles such as Shadow of the Tomb Raider and Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak when coupled with the 5700 XT GPU. A much-needed upgrade over the previous Ryzen 5 2600!Pros:- Easy to slot in to the motherboard- Around 300-800MHz boost in Game Mode- Massive improvement in performance compared to the 2600 prior and a compatible Radeon card, with similar results potential with an NVIDIA cardCons:- Fiddly Wraith cooler installation- No iGPU, but the crossfire gains would be minimal in comparison- Probably won't be as fortunate the next time if I order a spare!

I bought this CPU around December 2022, and have been using it for over 8 months now. I don't have a GPU, and this CPU has onboard graphics. The integrated GPU is just as you'd expect it. It isn't going to give you 3 digit framerates in AAA games, but it can get you through almost anything you throw at it.This CPU is a really good contender for budget PC builds, as it's price point gets you quite a lot - 6 cores, onboard graphics, stock cooler, and overall pretty decent performance.

Wanted a CPU with integrated graphics to act as a back up in case my GPU failed. I am know stranger to Ryzen processors. This was my 5th personal CPU & I have put many in other builds for friends and family. I have since moved on to AM5 and resold my this CPU with no issue. As with all AMD cpu's power consumption is low & cooling is super easy and affordable. Just note that going with the G variant over the non G 5600 or 5600X drops PCIE lanes down to Gen3 speeds vs Gen4.

If you don't mind PCIE gen 3 (AM4) as a limiting factor having the onboard GPU is a no brainer. performs well, overclocks to 4.4ghz, is low power (65w) comes with wraith fan which is so quiet. I run it on an iatx m/b in a thermaltake tower. i'm not a gamer but apparently it's OK and runs Radeon graphics. not os much cutting edge but dependable.

I upgraded my dads PC by going from a 10th gen Intel 10600 and found, despite no changes to components beyond MOBO and CPU, boot up time to log in screen is near or less than 15 seconds whereas the intel would take nearer to a minute or on a couple of occasions more than.Ultimately, this could be considered more of a sideways step but as his computing needs aren't intensive I wanted a robust, yet efficient, set up that would let him play a basic game or two at 1080p without lagging or needing a dedicated GPU. Overall he's very happy, and I'm genuinely shocked by how good the combo turned out as all I changed was the CPU & MOBO, yet saw a genuine performance upgrade...

If you're playing games at 1080p, and not doing insane tasks, this is the right CPU for you. I had one before the one I just bought, and not being nearly as experienced with computers, I never monitored its temperature and it likely toasted itself over time. The new one, however, is working like a charm. If I have a tip for you, it's this.Step 1: Go to the searchbar on the bottom left and type choose a power plan, and then open.Step 2: You'll see the balanced (recommended) one. Click change plan settings.Step 3: Click change advanced power settings.Step 4: You'll see a list with some plus signs left of various things. Click the plus sign to the left of "processor power management".Step 5: Click the plus sign next to "maximum processor state".Step 6: Click the number (I assume it will be 100%) and change it to 99%.By following these steps, you'll limit the amount of power your CPU receives. Now, this isn't dangerous, provided you don't set the number really low. I first set it to 70% while following a video. Then I slowly increased it to 85%, and I noticed an insane drop in temperature (around 20-30c) while playing various games. Red Dead Redemption 2, for instance, was cooking my CPU beforehand, and then I turned down the variable and the high temperatures were gone. Now, does it affect performance in any way? It....can. The 5600G is a 6 core, 12 thread processor. When setting it to 85%, the base clock of 3.90GHZ dropped to around 3-3.16GHZ for me. I've noticed zero affect on performance. If there is an affect to performance, it would be a few frames in games, MAYBE. If that. And for browsing the web, I have yet to notice anything. Now of course, if you're planning to use the 5600G as an APU solely (if you don't have a graphics card), then I would be a little more careful with lowering the variable. But if you have a graphics card then I wouldn't worry at all. Some people don't recommend the card because "it's not good enough", but how is it not good enough? It shatters web browsing, gaming, streaming, and basically everything that the average PC gamer does on their machine. If we're talking about more advanced activities, then yeah. You might want a CPU that has more cores, or one that is able to reach a higher speed and overclock. If you're planning to build a computer that is just gonna game at 1080p-1440p with some web browsing, Discord and streaming on the side, it's the CPU for you. Just pay attention to your temperatures. The last 5600G I had cooked under my nose. Ryzens get pretty hot.

I snagged this CPU back in COVID for $79 and at the time of writing this, it's still a good value for money CPU. The performance of the chip right out the box is amazing and if you know how to do some overclocking, then go right ahead to squeeze as much performance as you need. It's very compact for the AM4 platform and is compatible with any B350 (BiOS update needed), B450 and B550 board for the price. Installing is very straightforward and takes less than 25 seconds. The stock cooler is good as well and keeps it at 70 degrees under load and 60 if you introduce cooler air.

Smooth and fast boot-up from Window 11 and fast graphic display on the monitor. Good performance and quality for value compared to its competitor. I always enjoy AMD though I have had Intel before. This is really a good CPU as most put it!

This cpu is really fast. Im getting 300+ fps on fortnite performance mode all epic setting and in gta over 120. Really like the cpu and its also compatible with windows 11
