Really disappointed with these sometime after installing these, all of the colours are wrong and let’s say you pick white every metre you get 4 or 5 different colours which has now ruined the effect so much so I’m thinking of removing these which will then cause issues as the whole room will require redecorating.. Very disappointed with these after a relatively short period of time. ————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————— Really really happy with these; so easy to install albeit a little tricky around the slopped ceiling but got there in the end. Came with all the bits required to do the install including splice kits whcih were never used as managed to get round it, only one slight issue in that the cut was mm off the run when running the other way, this is apparent in the video but it's not that bad and could've run over the top until the next cutting point but didn't. The app that the manufacturer says to use with this is really bad and does not work although using the manually buttons on Govee and the remote control it's fine; even though the app says it must be MP3 tunes and not Spotify or Apple Music i've got loads of music which was bought from iTunes yet that didn't work either which it said it would! All in all really happy with this purchase and the room looks immense when lit up..

these are surprisingly really good and they’re are affordable and with the app you can make any colour you want and do so much more stuff with the led lights i’m so so glad i bought these i definitely recommend these!!

I decided to wait a month or so after installing the lights before writing this review so that the review is consistent with experience. Installation was simple and straight forward. The lights are fitted around the room at ceiling level and give off a nice glow when powered on. The LED lights appear to be very good and I can't fault the brightness or colour output. Although, when powered down, there still remains a faint blue glow all around, so some power is still being emitted from the unit. The main concern of this unit, and may not affect you if you only plan on using the remote (details later), is the app. The app connects via Bluetooth, unlike other sets I have set up around the house that use WiFi connection, this impacts the battery life on the controller device greatly. I use one tablet to house the apps for my numerous LED lights around the house. The WiFi lights have no issue with connection, but this app drops its connection regularly, and this, needs to be brought back into range before the app is usable again. Personally, I find the app VERY limited in functionality. I normally set up timers for my lights to turn on and off. However, with this app, you only get three configuration allowances. I like to set a daily on/off time that is different at the weekends to week days. This means I can set one on and an off for, say weekdays, but then can only set an on or an off for the weekends requiring further input to complete a 'sequence'. Overall, the app (illumi home) is very sluggish at responding to user input and lags way behind other apps (such as Magic Home Pro which is far more configurable and responsive). However, the input sensing options respond to visual/auditory input well, so I have to give it a plus for that. On the other hand, if the app is of no use to you and you only want to use the lights via remote control, then I can't fault the kit. The remote is one of the best I have in my home set up. If you find that the default colours on the remote do not match with what you are hoping for, then you can manually alter the hue, to your desired colour by increasing/decreasing the Red, Blue and Green Up/Down keys on the remote.

I bought this exact Mexllex product four years ago and was extremely satisfied. The LEDs were bright, easy to install, and could be controlled via remote, app, or physical buttons. It was a fantastic product. Fast forward to today: after moving into a new house, it was a no-brainer to order the same ones again. I even went back to my old orders to make sure I got the exact same product and purchased 80 meters of what I thought was a trusted option. BIG MISTAKE. First, from the product page I noticed right away that the LED controller has been changed. Previously it was a slick black panel that could be attached to my furniture. It didn't look to bad and had physical buttons so I could turn the lights on/off and change modes by clicking them in case I couldn't find the remote. Now it has been swapped out for an ugly white plastic box without any buttons. And because this box has to be in the line of sight for the remote it will be in a visible place at all times. Annoying, but I figured I could live with it, so I ordered it anyway since the rest seemed to be the same. Then the lights arrived. AND WOW - WHAT AN ABSOLUTE JOKE! The LED strip is completely different from what I ordered before, and it’s a MASSIVE DOWNGRADE. The LEDs are half the size and spaced ridiculously far apart, making the light dim and uneven. I’ve attached a photo to compare the old and new versions, and it speaks for itself: this isn’t just bad; it’s unusable. Forget lighting up a room—this won’t even light up a shelf. On top of that, the cut-off points are spaced 50(!!!) cm apart. If your furniture or setup doesn’t perfectly align with that, tough luck. Good luck making it fit neatly. To make matters worse, the box now comes stripped down, with no connectors or extension cables—items that were included with the original version. So if you want to cut and reconnect the strip to suit your space, you’ll need to find the right accessories and shell out extra cash for them. And the final insult? The first product photo STILL shows the old, high-quality strip, even though they’re shipping this downgraded version. This is blatant false advertising. Refunding it immediately. DO NOT buy this product.
