Hermit crabs are interesting, low-maintenance pets that don't require much in the way of special equipment or supplies. This hermit crab habitat kit contains a 3.5-gallon, clear acrylic tank with a vented lid, which has double handles and a convenient extra door in the lid so that food can be added without the entire lid having to be removed. Also included are a bag of gravel, a plastic "hermit hut," a small natural sponge, a plastic plant, two plastic feeding lids, and a 16-page, illustrated instruction manual. The manual is well written, with lots of scientific information and complete instructions for caring for hermit crabs. The live hermit crabs are not included with the kit, but a pre-paid certificate is included to send away for two hermit crabs, two shells, and a package of food.
