Hatch

This book was my toddler's favorite (he's now 14months, has been his favorite for a few months). I love that each page has the flaps (and so does he). We received the first as a gift, and some flaps fell off/ spine finally broke, so we ordered a new one.We've only had the new one for a few weeks, though, and another flap has come off. This time, it only lasted a few weeks/ maybe a couple dozen readings. I don't think my toddler is any more abusive than other kids-- he moves the flaps back and forth but doesn't lift the weight of the book by the flaps or anything...so, I would give it 5 stars if only it were constructed better. Oh, and maybe I wish it didn't have the message that snakes like to bite. I figure enough people have unreasonable fears of snakes already. At least where we live, it's silly to fear snakes, and I hope my baby doesn't learn that...

We owned this book once before and my son loved it so much that he wore it out. I bought another to replace the fallen one.

My little grandson loved the first book to death and is now happily working on the second one. We had to buy another because he loves it so much!

My daughter loves this book! It was one of the first books she took an interest to, and she liked it from early on. My friend is a park ranger and obviously very knowledgable when it comes to science and nature, so when she had her baby I made sure to give her a copy as well!

I thought this might be a bit too young for my 2-year old, but I put it in her Easter basket anyway. It's now her favorite book. She loves lifting the flaps and guessing what animals will be under there given the clues on the previous pages. It's a short, cute book and perfect for a curious toddler. I would recommend for any child 1 - 3 years old.

I love this book! Fun to read with 4 year old and to baby

My daughter is just turning a year, but this has been one of her favorite books since she was eight or nine months old. In fact, it is such her favorite that I had to order a replacement because she is quite rough when opening the eggs :) This is a fun, precious book for children of all ages, with rhyming clues and adorable pictures of the baby animals.

I do NOT recommend the seller-Description did NOT match the book received. Photo’s included…“HATCH” is a wonderfully cute book especially fun for a toddler. It has been my granddaughter‘s favorite book Grandma reads to her since I originally purchased it about a year ago at Winners.Then Murphy’s Law-one day I can’t find the book anywhere☹️ My Grandaughter was very sad about that. I could no longer find the book at Winners so I was ecstatic to find Hatch available through a 3rd party seller on AmazonI ordered Hatch-it was $9 which was about 3 times the price of Winners but that was still a great price for that type and quality of book. I chose the “Very Good” condition option and delivery was supposed to take aroundI received the book later and I was initially really happy the first time I started to look through the it as it did “appear” to be in “very good condition”……that is until I got to the last page (page 7) which is the Penguin page. The bottom eggshell flap on that page was completely missing!!! Unfortunately the eggshell flaps are the most important and fun part of the book for the child as they get to open the two eggshell flaps to find out which baby animal is inside.Penguins are my granddaughter‘s favorite so it’s not like I can just skip over that page. So now every time we read the book, which is almost every night, my poor little Granddaughter always says “Grandma it’s broken-Grandma fix please” when we get to the last page☹️ It’s hard to explain to a 2 year old that Grandma can’t fix it because the missing eggshell flap was never even in the book to begin with when we received it from the dumb dumb Amazon seller.😡I would never have purchased the book had I known it actually wasn’t in very good condition and especially if I had know it was missing one of the flaps!
