I used to like Mauna Lao better
So after buying the 2 different brands separately for awhile and me thinking I liked the MacFarms better, I decided to buy both at the same time. Here's the difference in my opinion. The Mauna Lao are greasier and saltier than the more natural tasting MacFarms. Because the Mauna Lao are greasier, they are also softer. I personally prefer the natural crunchy taste that MacFarms packages

Fourth try is a charm
I went on a search for the ultimate macadamia nuts. After three other brands including Costco, Mauna Loa and one I can't remember, I found mac heaven in this brand. In less than ten days I've ordered twice. You definitely won't want to share these. Note to all those with dogs, know that macadamia nuts specifically are poison to them. Please keep the nuts safely away.

I'm very happy with my order of these macadamia nuts. They are impossible to find here in Mississippi in bulk and at an affordable price. I opened them the day they arrived and they are very fresh. Arrived on 05/2017 and expiration date is 09/2018. They will be long gone before then. The only additive is sea salt and they taste perfect. I will be ordering them again. I used my TV remote to show size of the bag (24oz/680g).UPDATE June 29, 2017 I ordered a second bag of these nuts and they are just as fresh and good as the first bag I ordered.

Hubby prefers these to Mauna Loa, but not me.
We went Keto several months back, so we really upped our nut intake. Although expensive, it's definitely worth it to have these around to snack on. When I realized we were spending upwards of $30 a week on tinned macadamia nuts we bought at the local groceries (3 x 4.5 oz. x $8-9 = 13.5 oz for almost $30!), this was clearly a better alternative. As I said, my husband and kids LOVE these. And they ARE really great, overall. But personally, for some reason, I like the taste of the Mauna Loa brand better. We'll keep getting these instead, though, because not only is it an excellent value, but between the kids and hubby, I'm outnumbered. In terms of freshness, these are excellent. Occasionally, you'll get one or two nuts that seem soft and a little stale-tasting, but I guess that's to be expected?

Delicious and fresh though not as "buttery" as Mauna Loa
I have been using macadamia nuts for several weeks now to supplement my diet with some healthy fat because I'm on a ketogenic diet. The brick-and-mortar retailers where I live in the southeastern US can't seem to keep the nuts fresh. Perhaps the turnover is low because they are not really a rational, economically wise purchase for a larger low-income family on a tight budget for instance. Or, maybe it's the high temps that seem to hover just above hell in the summertime that ruin them in transport. I don't know but they seem to develop a rancidity even before the expiration date. Over and over again I was getting nuts that had that slightly off and rancid flavor. Plus, I was paying a small fortune. So when I saw these on Amazon and that they had so many high reviews, I had to get them. Obviously for the cost savings as well as the fact that so many high reviews might mean a higher turnover and a lesser chance of getting rancid nuts again. And I was right! These are delicious and they are fresh. Not one bit of a rancid flavor detected! I have no complaints except to say that when I have on rare occasions been able to get Mauna Loa macadamia nuts that were fresh and not rancid from the brick-and-mortar retailers, I noticed that they aren't as heavily roasted. They appear lighter in color and they have a more buttery, sweet and delicate flavor than these. But that's not enough of an issue for me to give these less than five stars. They are still very delicious and I'm very pleased. I will probably buy these again.

Know Your Macadamia Nut Farms!
Size of the Nuts are wonderful, however, the flavor for just dry roasted sea salt are horrible!! My normal Favorite is Mauna Loa. I also bought Kirkland (Cosco) Dry Roasted Macadamia nuts w/ Sea Salt for the 1st time w/ the MacFarms Dry Roasted Macadamia nuts w/ Sea Salt. HUGE difference!!! Not just in size but in "Flavor!!!" The Kirkland Brand Out Beat the MacFarms by flavor profile. Mauna Loa you know your buying quality everytime and don't have to worry what Flavor of Macadamia Nuts you buy from Mauna Loa... They are "ALWAYS TOP QUALITY AND AMAZING FLAVORS".I was "VERY DISAPPOINTED" with my 1st and 2nd purchas from MacFarms. Sorry but they can not be compared to other flavorful quality from the Hawaiian Macadamia Farms.

Delicious
I love macadamia nuts. But, as you probably know, they are crazy expensive. If you buy the bulk ones, it is always hit and miss on freshness, even if you save a little bit of money. But, for the price of these, and the freshness of this product, these are the ones I buy. They are delicious and I have yet to have a bad bag of this product.if you are on a Keto diet or you just love macadamia nuts, I would encourage you to purchase these. IMO< they are MUCH better tasting than the Kirkland brand and they are a great value.
