Crazy Crayons Eco Stars (100% Recycled Crayons)

I purchased these for my toddler (now twenty months old) about eight months ago. I wanted crayons that I felt good about giving my toddler but that were also easy to hold and color with so we did quite a bit of searching. After reading a few reviews and talking with a couple of moms at playgroup we decide on these and we've had them for about eight months now. At first I was a little disappointed- my daughter wanted nothing to do with them and yes there are some awfully dark colors included in the box (about half were dark and half were brighter colors that you would see in a traditional crayon box). However, we have yet to break a single crayon! We have the thick triangle crayons, beeswax crayons, over-sized crayons, etc. and my daughter has never failed to break all of them at one point or another but she hasn't broken these at all (which I was surprised about because I thought they seemed thin when I opened the box). At twenty months she colors just as happily with these as typical crayons and though the colors aren't as bright I love how sturdy they are and she loves the fun star shapes. Overall I'm giving them four out of five stars because they are a little on the expensive side and a bit dark but if they can survive my toddler they deserve at least four stars.

We originally purchased these for a special school project that my daughter was doing for her Kinder class. In our particular case, we weren't using them as traditional crayons (we created a flag made of crayons with these as the "stars" for the stars and regular crayons as the stripes-using hot glue and poster board). So, for the project that we had in mind, these obviously worked well.My daughter and her friends thought that they were neat and they would probably make for a good gift for a kid that was really into coloring/art and you wanted to give them something a bit different to use on their art projects. We did try them out and the colors work as expected and the crayons actually hold up really well without breaking.Pretty cool, and nice to know that they are !00% recycled too.

I bought these for my 18 month old baby who loves stars, stacking, and coloring, so it was a perfect fit. The stars are a little smaller than I thought they would be from the picture -- and there was only one yellow, so the set itself seems a little darker than I had expected (although everything was in keeping with the product details posted, so there shouldn't be any surprises there). They are a great size for little hands - and as another reviewer wrote - great for drawing parallel lines (using two points down on the paper). One caveat: our dog loves to eat them, so now we have a few half stars. But there is something irrestible about these stars, so I do understand the appeal. :)

I bought these crayons as a new, interesting way for kids to color since I am a substitute teacher. The school kids did enjoy them and really wore them down. I read another person complained of lack of color variety. I got a variety of colors, BUT I did get 2 of the same color for a few colors, but at least one of each major color. I'm not sure if the colors are completely random or not. Either way, I had a good box and these worked well for my school kids. They are a little pricey, so do get use out of them. I bought them b/c it was for charity and I couldn't find anything else like it. Overall, I think kids will enjoy them! :-)

Super cute, Crayola quality coloring, easy to hold, lots of ways to color. These are a total hit. No plastic, and now our absolute favorite crayon.

I was very leery of a crayon that wasn't the "name" brand because I can't stand the waxy crayons - these are amazing! They are not waxy at all and the size is amazing for my 2 year old daughter. She just loves using them and I enjoy coloring with them as well. They leave behind a well saturated color on the paper and no waxy residue. The packaging was so cute and I just love the fact that they are upcycled.I would say the only small-ish issue is that there were not a huge range of colors, there are a lot of darker colors, but they are still beautiful.

I ordered these crayons as party favors for my 4 year old son's birthday party, and everyone loved these star shaped, eco-friendly recycled crayons! They are fun to use, and safely non-toxic for children and adults. The box contained twenty crayons in various colors including all the major primary colors, and the coloring on paper is great. They also come in a compact, recycled box that is a perfect size to take home after the party. Also, we had an awesome customer service experience with this product. When one of the boxes didn't come with the full set of crayons, I contacted Amazon.com via its live chat. Not only they immediately processed a credit for the box that didn't have the full set, they shipped a new one via one-day shipping without shipping fee. Overall, our experience with this product has been absolutely positive.

I ordered these crayons for my one year old son, knowing that he puts everything in his mouth and I didn't want to have to worry about him ingesting any toxins while coloring. These were one of very few options for crayons that seemed appropriate for young toddlers to use (given their still developing fine motor skills). My son is able to grasp the crayons easily and is working on applying more pressure to get darker lines. The slightly less bright (and less "artificial") colors don't bother me, as I expected some earthier tones in an Eco-friendly product. It's worth it to me for the healthier ingredients. I've since ordered two more sets for my friend's kids for their first birthday parties!
