Change Your Mind Slipcover Bag Sewing Pattern

This pattern was a dream to use. My own bag turned out so wonderfully and I plan to make many versions of this basic pattern. I modified it slightly to create an image that my grown granddaughter would like. I am adding a few photos of my design. Thanks Liesl for this great and gifted sewing tool.My basic purse is a neutral light sage with just a hint of a rust and an ivory thread that runs through it. It is a fully lined bag. I chose 2 different slipcover bags to go over it. They are fully lined as well and have elastic tabs that attach to the basic purse buttons. They hold a different design and feel. To adorn the purses I made removable and interchangeable kilt pins I used a basic plain kilt pin and added décor. This was so fun that I am going to make some more. I love the creative process. This felt as much art as it was sewing.

Great item, you do need a bit of experience if you've never worked with independent patterns (that is, not the usual simplicity, vogue, etc). I've always axed, changed or altered patterns so fit my needs and vision so I found it fun and easy. Just have fun with it, it's a great way to use up larger scraps or if you are a quilter, fabrics left over from quilting.

I'm a newbie to sewing but after reading the directions twice sometimes, I did figure it out. For the most part though, the directions were easy to follow. The hardest for me was choosing my fabric!! I WILL be making more!!
