A great portable grill with virtually no flaws.
A solid Weber product that was purchased as the primary cooking tool for our new RV.Putting the product together is a snap. The shelves are already attached, you pretty much just attach the handle and the thermometer, and stick the grates in the grill. It is a single burner grill that is well placed in the housing to allow for even cooking anywhere on the grates. The electric start is quick and the single heat control knob is accurate and secure. I purchased the adapter hose to be able to use a 20 lb. tank of propane and have a couple of the 1 lb. canisters in the event of an unexpected main-tank shortage.Cooking performance, for such a small grill, is exceptional. Its get up to about 300 degrees very quickly, and takes a bit longer to get up to 500-550. But, a 10-15 preheat period will get you there. I cook Costco chicken breasts for about 15 minutes on high and they come out perfectly juicy with a slight crispiness on the edges, which is how my wife likes them. A word of caution, don't dilly-dally when you are flipping your food, since the housing is aluminum instead of cast iron to save weight, it doesn't retain heat as well as a full-size Weber product - one of the trade-offs for a portable grill and not something you can really ding. Flip it quick and shut the grill. I like diamond-pattern grill marks, so I rotate chicken at about 3 or so minutes and flip at about 7 minutes. Once I have started cooking, the temperature still stays between 400-500 even with multiple lid-ups to flip/rotate.One thing I would have liked to see would be built-in slots to hang grilling tools on the shelves. Speaking of the shelves, they are strong enough to handle any amount of food that you are going to grill. I have read some reviews that state the shelves are wobbly and not strong. Are you grilling bricks or barbells? I have had a big plate of chicken on one shelf and flat of Costco steaks on the other. Nope, you can't stand on the shelves but they perform well for all reasonable people.I am very happy with this product and would recommend it to anyone who needs a portable grill or does not have room on their patio for a full-sized Weber gas grill.

Excellent compact gas grill
This is a very nice, compact, gas (propane) grill that we've just purchased for use on our apartment balcony (charcoal grills being prohibited for use there, understandably). It does require some basic assembly which is straightforward and not difficult. The grill is moderately heavy due mostly to the cast iron cooking grates which were one of the main reasons for our selecting this particular grill for purchase. The lid and body of the grill are cast-aluminum, much lighter in weight and hopefully durable over time. The two side tables fold inward and fit under the cover to reduce the footprint of the grill when not in use.It fires up immediately - initially we are using one of the small 16.4 oz LP cylinders that attach directly to the grill (smaller 14.1 oz size also fits). I also purchased the adaptor hose so that we can use larger refillable propane tanks. We purchased this along with the following accessories:- Weber 6557 Q Portable Cart for Grilling- Weber 6415 Small 7-1/2-Inch-by-5-inch Aluminum Drip Pans, Set of 10- Weber 6501 Adapter Hose for Weber Q-Series and Gas Go-Anywhere Grills, 6-Feet- Weber 6552 Premium Grill Cover, Fits Weber Q, Q-200, and Q-220 with CartIt's a fine setup, suitable for the back patio but also portable and lightweight enough to put in the back of the pickup or SUV and use when camping or fishing or at tailgate parties.Weber has a couple of grills with similar styling. This is the medium size model, and we selected this because of the larger grilling surface while still maintaining good portability. We first saw this grill at the local Home Depot. I found several advantages to purchasing here on Amazon (prices were the same) - there are several color choices available here, and there is a more complete selection of the different sizes that Weber offers.Very satisfied with this grill, and if we find any other points worth mentioning here as we use it over time, I will return and update this review accordingly.

This one is JUST right, no need for a monster grill!
I have had a Weber Q100 (now the Q1000) for 11 years and it has been just the greatest little grill for 1 person. Steaks, shrimp, chicken, zucchini, camp taters, you name it for grilling, it's pretty much done them all. I replaced the grids about 3 years ago and it keeps cooking on! I've had only two (minor) complaints - 1) occasionally, I've cooked for 2 or 3 on it and it gets real tight in there. 2) I grill cornish game hens on a stand like the ones for chicken, only smaller (specifically for cgh's) and there was not sufficient clearance to close the lid, requiring me to remove the grids and jury-rig something in order to get the lid down without contacting the birds. This year, I had company coming and wanted more space and clearance - so I ordered the Q2200 - and it was perfect. It arrived the same day they did, put it together in maybe 5 minutes, and it fit on the stand that I had for the Q100. The stand was made to accommodate either one. We cooked on it that evening and it did everything with ease. Also, the cornish hens fit, and were perfect!!However, I did not grill shrimp on it - the old Q100 is now the dedicated shellfish grill, and the Q2200 everything else. This is in deference to a few friends that have shellfish allergies. It heats up faster, with those 5000 extra BTU's over the small one, and there is easily room for a dinner for 4. I have the Q100, just in case more is needed. The fold out tables come in handy, just don't load them too heavily.I totally recommend this grill - Weber quality for an affordable price!
