Nice Balun
I like that it is designed to mount on a mast. The crimp on connections are also very nice and make it easy to attach the wire to the balun securely with a bolt. It worked perfect for my simple 20 meter dipole and I just ordered another one. Good stuff & fair price. I just bought my third unit and it is working excellent (near perfect SWR) like the others but I had to do some minor surgery to it to get my PL-259 connector to fully seat. The problem I encountered was that the SO-239 connector has some strange tolerances that wont allow certain PL259 connectors to fully seat. I am using a very high quality PL259 made by Times Microwave that fits perfect on other SO-239 connectors but not the one in this balun.. I also found several old Amphenol PL-259 adapters in my collection that would not fully seat on this SO-239. Lots of my PL-259s seat perfectly on their connector but not all. I am thinking their SO-239 is a Chinese design of some sort because it has no markings. It looks real good but something is out of whack because not all PL-259s will screw on fully. I have about a dozen Amphenol SO-239s in my antenna parts drawer so I opened the balun (very easy) and replaced the SO-239 connector with one that worked. Very easy to do and it worked. Would I buy it again? yes. This is a very high quality balun and I really like the design of the case that secures it to the mast plus the way that the antenna wire connect using common crimp on ring terminals. As I took it apart to replace the SO-239 I noticed that every nut had a lock washer and the build was very clean and orderly. I will enclose a photo that hopefully shows what I mean. Will it work with 2KW? I have no idea.. I never go much over 100 watts at my station (AA7JC) but I would certainly trust it with 600 watts (which is all my station is capable of).

Nice 1:1 Bulun
I have two of these on two different antennas. They look good and fit good on the masts that i use. I would buy again and probably will.

It worked as expected
It did what it's supposed to - I put about 500 watts through it with no problems

Solid Unit
Needed a 20m dipole for field day. Tried a cheaper unit but it was no place close to 1:1. This was spot on. Sturdy construction. The lugs are a bit large for 14ga wire, but that's what crimpers are for. Comes with a mast clamp which we didn't use, but makes for a good permanent mounting. And no interference with the other 17 stations we were operating. 500 watts was overkill, but nice to have.

Balun Quality
Excellent build quality.

Works fine
Balun works fine. The u-bolt is too short for a 2โ dia mast. Had to buy a longer one.

Impedance varies with frequency
Anyone else seeing low impedance as the frequency goes up? 15 meters and below is ok but impedance starts dropping there and is down to 45 ohms at 10 meters and 15 ohms at 50 meters. It should be very close to 50 ohms across its operating range. I have another 1:1 balun from different company and it's between 49-51 ohms from 80m-6m. Trying to decide if I return it or exchange for another one.
