I am very happy with the look of the lamp though I thought I was getting more of a brass look rather than chrome. The description does say chrome if you read it fully so that was my mistake. The pictures at a glance look brass like, especially when going back and forth comparing items. Again, with that said, the chrome unit is still impressive... especially with the working shutters. The tripod came in a day later but was worth the wait. It is nice and sturdy and was undamaged. The two pieces together are impressive! The only negative I have is that it comes with what I think is a dim 40w bulb and does not put out enough light to function as a lamp. I will likely upgrade the bulb to a brighter LED bulb to give me more lumens for the wattage to avoid any limitations of the fixture. ...plus LED will not cause any heat issues. Only holding last star due to it being too dim as it comes.

Exactly what I was looking for.Note: this is chrome. I knew it because I read the reviews AND the description.This is a beautiful, sturdy piece, and will last you a life time. I coated the wood with wood water sealer spray to protect it better and add the sheen you can see in the picture.

excellent as said. Bought 2 will buy a third as everyone that comes over wants one. Good bday presents and house warming.
