The Middle East 13th Edition

The class that I bought this for isn't very good, but the book itself gives a good overview of the Middle Easts various Arab and non Arab cultures. It also details very well the way in which the West's colonialism turned this area into a violent and fractured place.

Next semester's text … nicely laid out and easy to use. Only thing missing are some nice coloured pictures throughout; next edition, maybe?

The book was in a perfect condition just like said in the site. Like a brand new book. Thank you indeed.

I can't LOVE it as it's a school book, but it is informative and interesting. It is a compilation of articles and texts.

Excellent overview and insight about the whole region, historically, politically, economically.

Excellent historical and current perspective by country.

Without a doubt it is the most definitive, concise, and encompassing book about the modern history, politics, and societies of the Middle East that you can purchase. It has just a few small editing errors (ex. page 789: Mohamed Bouazizi self-immolated on December 17th, not December 10th). I would highly recommend it.

Great Uni book, as an introduction and for more in depth country case studies. Very good purchase - from a third year international relations and middle east studies student
