Fox Run First Spatula Pie, 1.75 x 4.25 x 5.75 inches, Metallic

The spatula is a cool thing to have if you are making the pies yourself as you have to insert it before you put the crust on the plate. I was expecting to somehow insert it after I either bought a pie or made it. What a surprise to find out it does not work that way but I do make my own pies sometimes and will try it and see. Update: I tried using the spatula as a tool to pick up the pie after it is already made and it works pretty well. I love it and plan on buying another one.

Bought as a gift for my mom, she loved it!

Ordered pie spatula on 11/27 & it arrived on 1/9 (the very last day it gave for how long it would take). I can't imagine why it took so long to get here...other than it must have been shipped to a US warehouse from China & then sent UPS to me (UPS delivered it within 2 days of shipping). We had a couple "First Slice" pie spatulas that were the best I have seen. I wouldn't have purchased this if I could find other that was the same brand. They put large stickers on BOTH sides of the triangle. The stickers come off 1 small piece at a time, even after soaking in hot water. Had to use rubbing alcohol & a lot of elbow grease to get the adhesive off. Seems that for $10 for a small piece of metal, at least the labels should remove easily. I'm just hoping it doesn't get rusty, because it looks like it will.

I never knew this existed, works really well. Put it under the crust before you bake the pie and when the pie has cooled, you cut the first slice around this pie lifter and it comes out perfect. The first piece is usually never perfect.

Wonderful gift

This "first piece" pie spatula is not made to fit all pie plates. The depth and angle of the metal makes it useless for my pie pans. Obviously it will only fit a certain pan. It's a waste of money for those of us who don't happen to have a pan that it will fit. My suggestion would be for the manufacturer to sell these as a set along with a pie pan that it WILL fit.

I have used a product like this for many years and often, when I take a pie for a party, it is difficult to locate my pie spatula. This new one appears to be made of better materials and I hope I can keep my hands on it. The secret is to store it with the pie plates so that you don't forget to use it before placing your bottom pie crust in your pie pan. Everyone who sees it comments on how neatly that first slice of pie slips out of the pie pan. Could this be why these pie spatulas keep disappearing? They make a great gift for friends who are into pie making.

Helps to cut that perfect first piece of pie.

I have yet to use this pie lifter because when removing the labels (front and back) they left a paper film on. I tried to remove the paper film only to be met with a lot of sticky goo. I would need to go to the store to buy a product ro remove this goo, (Goo gone) making this pie lifter very expensive. I am choosing to throw it away instead. Not happy with my purchase.
