not bad for kids book, but not the whole story
I got this book for my son, a fourth grader who is a great reader. We were hoping to go over the story in detail before seeing the movie in order to prepare him for some of the more violent and adult parts of the movie. He enjoyed the book, but when he told us the end of the book is when Eytukan touches Jake's chest and announces he's now a son of the Omaticaya, we realized that this covers about half or 2/3 of the movie. It doesn't cover the war at all. I'm assuming there's going to be more of these books, but they haven't been published yet apparently. And the publisher's reading level is 7-10, which I would say is accurate. Note that this is a small, 58 page book for young readers.

It's A Children's Book, Not A Novel
Had the first review posted with this item ACTUALLY described the item he was SUPPOSED to be reviewing and not the movie, I wouldn't have bought this book. I was hoping for a novel that would expand on the story of the movie. This is not a full length novel but a child's adaptation instead (maybe for nine year olds?). I suppose for what it is it's OK. However, if you're expecting a novel based on the movie, this is NOT it.

Great book
even though it says that it is for between the ages of 7 through 10 it is stiil fun to read if you are an avatar fan. it also gives some extra scenes that were not in the film {spoiler} like the dream hunt and also jake killing a sturmbest. it is more focused towards kids but it is still a joy to read. short book and it only describes everything up to where jake gets a banshee. if you dont like child books then dont get it. but if your like me and dont really care get it adds some more detail from the movie.

Children's Thrill Ride
The description of the book plainly states that it is meant for readers 7 to 10. I purchased the book for my grandchildren for Christmas and each one of them loved it. The book takes us through about 2/3 of the film and has added scenes, such as the Dream Hunt, that are not in the film.Clearly there are more books coming, which will most likely take us through the battle and beyond. My family and I eagerly await the next installment. Your kids will enjoy this thrill ride.Winnie VernerRancho Palos Verdes, CA

Kids book?
I purchased this not knowing it was a childrens novel. With that said, it's basically a very small book with a re-telling of the story from the movie (with the ending not included, and it's not near as fleshed out or detailed, etc). If you are looking for something more deeper then don't buy. It might make a good collectors item if you are collecting memorabilia from the film, but that's about it.

Only one-half of the Avatar story
James Cameron's Avatar: The Na'vi Quest I thought I was purchasing a book that told the whole story through to the end of the movie. Why published a book entitled "Avatar" when it tells a story that is incomplete? Where is the last half of the written story presented in the movie "Avatar?"W

A novel ideal cut short.
Beautiful cover for a short story. I realize this one is for young children but only 58 pages long, double spaced with some nice black & white illustrations, this novelette is too short ! Oh well,it will keep the kids occupied for an hour. More Books set in the AVATAR universe-More pages -more-more-more-PLEASE.

The Na'Vi Quest booklet
This wasn't really what I expected. At 58 small pages it's more of an illustrated essay than a book.It seems to relate to the initial part of the film Avatar, prior to any hostilities.I suppose Avatar fans might want to own it, as a kind of scripture to reinforce the film in their imaginations.

Waste of Money
This is not a book, just a pamphlet. The best thing about it is the cover and nothing else. 64 pages of huge text that could have been put in just a few pages. It is basically a summary of the film, not a script, not a novel. Buy the Survival Guide or Art Book instead. This is just a money making waste of time.

Schade

Avatar 'The Na'Vi Quest@
I have just received this thing and I am disgusted at its total and blatant attempt to jump on the band wagon. The fans demand to be treated with some kind of respect. We have seen the film and now we want to read the book - or series of books about Avatar. James Cameron is a brilliant director and I love the film, surely he can not be sanctioning such a blatant rip off.Tony H
