Do not recommend this product. Won’t stay on dash. Won’t function well in the sunlight. And phone will not say on mount.
Works great with low light. But in the the sunshine it works poorly. I could barely see the guide. And the phone kept sliding off during bumps in the road. The sticky mount would also not stay in place when the dash got warm.I do not recommend this product.

Neat idea. ConsumerADVOCATEgives two thumbs up
Anybody considering a HUD plug into your OBD2 jacks consider this option. I would not interface an elcheapo Chinese electronics with my Gm master computer. That computer if it fails are around a grand. If you have an iPhone download the free App Store software. Then place your iPhone on this unit for HUD display even in sunlight. It is pricey st $50.

Not perfect but good for the price
I works well at night and also during the day (except when you're directly facing a low sun). However, there are a few issues (to be fair, this is the first HUD device I've tried so this review doesn't mean these issues don't exist in other ones):1. The image is too close so your eyes still have to change focus between the road and the HUD.2. When you close the glass, the concave outside is too shiny and reflects every light right into your eyes. So if you'e not using it, you'd better just remove it.3. The glass is a bit dark. This, as well as the focus issue above generally prevents you to see that well beyond it; something that is supposed to be the main purpose of HUD. But it's still safer than turning your eyes away from the road to look at your car or phone screen.Overall, I think this is a cheap alternative to those expensive HUD devices that have a projector of their own.

Don't recommend
There are some serious issues that make this product almost useless:1) The holder it's not stable and you cannot stick it to the dashboard2) It's not easy to see the road in the sun3) The software voice assistant is really absurd. She says turn sharp, turn smooth and go straight! that's it, without mentioning the street names or other useful direction info that you can get from the google map app.

Ok, but a few items to consider before purchase
If your main objective is to get HUD for speed (and usually compass) then its not bad if overcast or night time. For this, I still use it as one of my vehicles doesn't have HUD and I like not having to look down at speedometer. That said, couple items to caveat before purchase.1- As others have mentioned, its hard to see in daylight. (just as your phone is 'regularly' so I don't default them this one.2- As others have mentioned, in the sun it can overheat (just as your phone would if left out) so just be aware3- you have to use the sticky tape to hold in place, otherwise it goes flying4- the pivot ball is not quite as tight as is should be so it will move on you during your drive. have to play w/it to find best position for most stable fit5- if you take a sharp turn, you phone WILL go flying! Its ended up in my floorboard multiple times. (wish it had edges to keep phone in place)6- any pop up messages that you normally see and delete will still pop up, obstructing the HUD. and hard to remove them7- remember that when using it, you no longer have access to your phone on you. Its now a HUD display. So I use a 'spare' phone for this task8- whether in use or not, you do see the mirror back on your windshield. it doesn't really obstruct, but the image is there, like if you have other stuff on your dashboardHope this helps. Wish someone would have posted all this before I spent the cash. (but again, it is nice to have HUD if you want it)M

This is the worst product that I have ever bought.
If you think of use this product in day time, you might have an accident. You can barely see something on the glass and when you focus on the glass you miss the road. In first attempt to close the glass, plastic linked part was broken. Beside all of this, after 30 minutes when you start to use it on sunny day, you will see overheating allert on your screen. Phone is literaly burning under the glass. This is a frustrating experince. Idea is good but it is not working. Do not make your mind with watching sponsored interviews of hudwayglass instead of searching real users. Don’t waste your money and time on this useless thing.

Simple to install, Great device!
Great device! Works seemlessly with my iPhone X. Excellent display [ really intended for night time use]. Love this on long drives. Actually enlarges a bit , the display, so for someone like me wearing glasses, its a plus.I highly recommend. Others have left negative comments before, and I think thats because they don't fully understand the purpose or use of this. Simple to install, and a coupon to get the App for Your iPhone or Android for the GPS features.

Save your Money!
Sorry folks! But this is one terrible product. It starts with the mount that won't stick to the dash (yes I did clean the area. I have attached other mounts to this dash without any problem). Next the reflection on the screen is totally useless during the day (barely visible and yes I did turn up the brightness on the phone). I got a better result by laying the phone on the dash next to the windshield. What a waste of money! Folks, buy one of those screens you put on the windshield it works better. Then get one of the apps that has the HUD option.
