5 stars for Origin!
This was my first time reading something by either of the authors. They did a great job on this first book of the series, and I already can’t wait to read more. I truly enjoyed this modern world they’ve crafted where dragons are known as beings who are no longer in the world but are still celebrated, even as they live right underneath everyone’s noses.I loved the dynamic between Cameron and Alric. Cameron is open to believing in the existence of dragons thanks to the stories he’s been told in his family. He has a great laid-back, open-minded attitude but is also an intelligent critical thinker. His youth is not at all a detriment even given the seriousness of his situation—he shows a maturity you wouldn’t normally find in someone his age.Alric is much more reserved, and he puts his clan before all else. He was a tiny bit frustrating with his insistence on letting Cameron explore the possibilities with the other dragons in the clan; I do understand his reasoning, though this did draw out the already slow burn between them even more. Alric and Cameron complement each other well, and each considers the other in everything—something Alric is not accustomed to having. There’s a great cast of supporting characters and I’m already chomping at the bit to find out their individual stories. Especially Ravi…I adored him the most with his free loving, impetuous, and overeager personality. You can’t help but fall for him. And as for the bad guys? They’re just the right amount of evil enemy, though sorely misguided in their beliefs. There was a spot or two of inconsistency in continuity, but beyond that the story was engaging and kept my attention. After the excitement of the final conflict—which does leave things open for future clashes with the enemy—I’m definitely on the hook for more in this series. 5 stars for Origin, and I would absolutely recommend this to any M/M fantasy romance fan, especially if you are a dragon lover like me. This book is meant for readers 18+ for adult language and sexual content.

What an absolute treat!
This is a m/m shifter/mage romance (without mpreg). Amazon recommended this book to me after my delight with a completely different author/series; I put it off because the cover didn’t grab me and a different series did. That was a mistake as this book was such a treat to read! I was hooked from the very first chapter, which is rare for me with the sheer number of books I consume by book and audio.Imagine a world where Dragons live only in myth and shadows, hidden from the world and the evil that sought to destroy them. One day a man wanders into a small town in Germany to discover that not only are dragons real, but that he comes from a long line of mages! The story is beautifully written and I’ve almost run out of enough words to describe just how much I enjoyed this book with its modern setting, fantasy is woven in perfect symmetry with suspense and dashes of romance. I am grateful for my kindle unlimited subscription so I could hurry back to get the rest of the series; after all, who needs sleeps?!

Humans believe that Dragons and their Human Mages Magic are gone
The Dragon Wars decimated the Clans wiping out thousands of dragons and their powerful mages.Dragons can only reproduce with the help of their mages, so many of which were killed in the war that the small number clans that survived are in danger of firing out unless more mages can be found. Most humans believe dragons and magic have already died out and no longer exist. An American Tourist, Cameron, has just completed his Mechanical Engineering Masters Program and is backpacking across Europe and stops at a small village celebrating their Dragon Festival. During his visit a dragon attending the event detects the presence of an unknown mage in the village and raises the alarm. A, Very, Single, Dragon King, Alric turns out the Castle to search the village for the mage. When Ravi, the young dragon ward of the king, grabs Cameron and starts shouting in German that he has found the mage,.Cameron only knows a few words in German, and has no idea what Ravi is saying. Alric. realising this, quickly understands that Cameron is not aware at all of the significance of what he, Cameron, is—or who he is speaking to, and introduces himself as just a simple citizen, and that he thinks Ravi’s enjoyed the festival too much.”Alric needs to handle this carefully or he could lose his chance to win Cameron over to become a mage and help save his clan of dragons by accidentally scaring him off.The first book in the series , this is an adult tale of magic and m\m romance of a dragon king and his fated mate trying to rebuild his clan by finding lost mages for his people's future while fighting off known and unknown threats to his kingdom. Joel Leslie does a fantastic job of narrating AJ Sherwood and Jocelynn Drake's characters!

A Dragon Fantasy...A Romance... A New Series to Enjoy
This was so much fun! I loved the plot, the setting, the characters and the fast pace of the novel. I just wish I could actually live in this world. I wish we had castles and fire dragons to enjoy. The dialogue is 'snappy', life in the fire dragon castle is exciting and dragons are not to be messed with. There was humor throughout the tightly woven story. The romance was perfect between the main characters, and there's nothing like an 'anti-spell' to get everyone excited.Buckle in for a bumpy ride. I'm sure the rest of the series is going to be just as good.

What a ride
That was everything I need in a dragon shifter book and I stayed up way too late reading this. It had a King and an unsuspecting human who didn’t know dragons existed yet alone he had his own powers. I love the kick a$$ women in this story. I loved that the king had weaknesses but wasn’t a mean king because of it. The journey was a long one but each step was worth it. The writhing was amazing, the smexy was Hawt, and the side characters were rock stars! Now to find the others their mates.

Here be dragons
American tourist meets interesting local at the dragon festival in Germany. The Dragon King, Aleric, knows that Cameron is a mage. But Cameron doesn't.It takes a lot of persuasion and some mind blowing experiences for Cameron to believe in both himself and dragons.Enter a world of loss, love, magic, love, violence, love and more than a smattering of hot, hot togetherness! An entrancing, detailed and compelling start to the series.

Freaking awesome....
I was hooked from the first page and couldn't stop till I finished. I loved the careful, thoughtful but also steamy journey Alric and Cameron took to their inevitable union. I appreciated the thought, care and consideration they both, individually and together, showed in deciding their life together. I frickking LOVE their friends, family and clan. There's so much to say about how brilliant a read this was, but....riveting, beautiful, fun-filled, humorous and quite an adventure. So worth the read.
