Purchased 2, one died a loud smoky death
Just received two of these on Friday along with the Model 400 Transmitter and a Model 400 receiver. The idea was to use the 400 receiver for a subwoofer behind my couch and 2 of these amps for the rear speakers. I started off with the two rear speakers. Everything was working fine for about an hour, but suddenly the right amplifier box made a loud POP! and started smoking. It sounds like there's now some components rattling around inside, as well.I went to their website, which is terrible btw, to try and find an RMA link, but instead just filled out the email form and will wait to hear back.I understand defective units do happen, so I'll increase the rating pending the RMA process and testing a new one.Edit: The actual RMA went fine, the company got back to me within a day or two. Sent the defective one back and got a new one, but never ended up using them. Got a Sony blu-ray unit instead that also had wireless rear speakers included, they've been working just fine.

Excellent sound quality
Excellent sound quality. Tracks surround sound perfectly. Initially was set to 5.8 megahertz but I changed my router to 5.28 megahertz and I no longer had any chirping sound coming out of the speaker. The fact that this unit goes to sleep when sound is no longer input into it makes it a real sweet deal. I would highly recommend this for wireless connectivity to speakers. I had my speakers wired but when I put trim up, nails went right through the wires and no longer had sound out of the speakers. Every once in awhile I hear a little chirp but it's not that often and it's not a big deal.

Poor design, causes a clicking sound...
The units have auto shut off. What happens if you are watching a movie or TV and there is no soundtrack for the surround sound speakers for 2 or so minutes the units shut off. When they receive a signal they turn back on, but they "pop" the speakers causing a clicking sound. Sad because the sound is excellent when they are working. A simple on-off switch on the units would have eliminated the problem. My previous set up had on-off switches and I experienced no problems, the unit stayed activated till you turned them off... It is an annoyance that ruins the surround sound experience and is due to poor engineering design...

Almost really good...but reception should be better.
This unit and its matching transmitter do, in fact, work. However, the positioning of the units is critical. Without absolutely 100% clear line of sight, expect to hear annoying crackling noises from your speaker. In addition, be sure not to have any seating area between the transmitter and receiver as the same will happen.

Had to return because it didn't work for me
I live in a townhome, with lots of wifi interference from neighbors on both sides, and I couldn't get these to work well in this environment.

It works but has an annoying pop when it turns on or off
It works but has an annoying pop when it turns on or off. On some movies or shows it is really distracting at times. I do not know why they could not have buffered the auto sense circuit.

Not right for me but customer support is GREAT
After contacting customer support, I'm changing my review:The 400/480 models didn't work for my environment but I contacted customer support and they have been FANTASTIC. I can't say enough good things about how well they have treated me.

Running 4 model 480 amplifiers with a model 400 transmitter on a 7.1 home theater
Easy installation. Really like the ability to adjust volume on each amplier independantly customizing the audio for the space. It does solve the problem of running speaker wire across a room. However, each amplifier requires proximity to power outlet. There was a loud squelch when we first turned it on. A simple adjustment of the wires in the back of the amplifiers solved the problem. Has been running for about 4 hours now without a single problem. Have not experienced any interference problems with other appliances. Home theater sounds even better than it did wired. Love it!
