Exceptional book, filled with lots of concrete steps how to deal with everyday challenges you may face as a manager. I would strongly recommend for new managers, but also experienced ones how just follow the flow

I love this book! It’s difficult to describe how I feel about it. I have worked for several retailers in the past and none of them are professional on a store level. This book puts into words everything that’s missing from our lives at the jobs we work. It helps you realize effective management makes a world of difference no matter where you work, no matter how mundane a job it may be.

Bought these for my managers for Christmas. I have had positive comments from them about the content of the book. Seem to enjoy the material. Would recommend to others. This book was also displayed at a recent managers' convention I was at and was a hot ticket item at the bookstore there.

"The 27 Challenges Managers Face" is an excellent, comprehensive, solutions-based management handbook. Bruce Tulgan is able to capture the essence of management issues and give action plans for resolution. This book will serve as a valuable resource. Having implemented Bruce Tulgan's recommendations in the past, I can say, they really work! This is a must have book for anyone in business.

Didn’t like this author’s perspective on direct reports or people for that matter. I read this book several months prior to taking my first manager assignment. Now that I have been a manager for a couple months this book turned out to be of little help.

Great book. I've recommended to all my new manager friends. Even tho I don't agree with all of his proposed solutions, it is a very good reference with practical examples to solve managing challenges.No BS! Just plain good old management advice.

Most of the content can be found in the 1st 30 pages. Good info just very difficult to read cover to cover.

The is an excellent resource for managers in any industry. It outlines the fundamentals of management and how to use them to tackle tough employee problems. This isn't a magical method to making employees do what they should but rather a outline for a management style. This style gets the results you desire simply because you are have the 1 on 1 conversations with employees that they need to hear to fully understand what you want from them.
