Monsoon
I rate Monsoon as one of my favourite Di Morrissey books she is a born story teller and her discription of the places is spot on. It made me wanting to go to visit the area. The story was very enjoyable and very hard to put down.

Monsoon
I so enjoy Di Morrissey. I read this book years ago, & so wanted to visit Vietnam. Recently returned from a wonderful holiday there, & had to reread it. Her description of the areas were so real, great story. I really would like a fool up book.

Perhaps her best?
I have been reading Di's books for decades, eagerly waiting for the new one each year, then reading it on the flight home from Australia. As always, she evokes the places wonderfully. Quite frankly, I was surprised that she could do that for Vietnam. Characters are some of her most compelling. The history of the treatment of returning vets is spot on. While I do love the Broome trilogy, this is now my favorite. For some reason it means more to me now than when I first read it when I was younger. That's probably because I am retired now and have more time to appreciate it. A bit irritating as it begins, because it needs better chapter/section headings as the time switches back and forth. But you soon get in the swing of it. No time for a longer review. Going to pull out the one on Malaysia and all the old ones I have not read in years!

wrong size
It was the wrong size book- i wanted the large size paperback. I was replacing a book i lent from a friend . The book story is great. But it was a waste of money for me.

I like the mix of story and information
I like the mix of story and information. Having just arrived back from Vietnam, I enjoyed reflecting on places I have visited and reading about the stories behind the things I saw.

Monsoon
We have just been on holiday in Vietnam so reading this book made a lot of sense to me. We had visited a few of the places mentioned so had a feel of the environment. Great story as well.

Lest we forget
In this story I was glad that you found her heritage as you deserve to know. This story sound so true to the point where I can feel in my heart of the terrible things that went on over there. Your mother was safe here in Australia as she may not have been if she were to stay in Vietnam at tnat time. Hanus things happen to people in Vietnam specially young girls even the men who tried to bring peace to the country. It was a war that we should not have interfered with. Most enjoyable reading. I will recommend this book to my reader,s even though it might bring back some bad memories .

Great story;
Gripping yarn like all Di's books. Very timely in today's Australia with so many Vet's still dealing with ghosts of the past.
