Status 13 A 4 Socket Cable Reel with Thermal Out,Green,50 metres

Excellent item and price. But overheats after 10 minutes then cuts off. Have to unwind the entire lead to prevent overheating. If not unwound it generates electromagnet characteristics and overheats.

Used for about 3 months, over heats easily. Was using in summerhouse, running the wire down the garden from the house. Smelt the plastic in the house, the plug has melted and is stuck in my plug socket at the moment.

What can one say about an extension lead, this one works, is well made and easy to use. A nice feature is the overload cutout, I have managed to trip this once when I overloaded the extension lead. Easy to reset, and it saved some possible damage. One thing mentioned in the instructions, always ensure that the cable is fully unrolled before using it for large current loads, otherwise the cable gets so hot that it can melt and short out. Please be aware that this is a problem with all roll up extension leads, not only this one. must

Managed to find this cheaper amongst identical looking extension leads, it just has a different name on it. Very pleased with it - it's well made, very easy to unreel and reel back in so perfect for getting the jobs done 20 metres away from the socket - especially gardening.
