Clarity Amplified Telephone Ringer With Visual Indicator (SR200)

This ringer came to me in a taped shut package which indicated to me that it was not new. Since I had it I cut the tape and opened it. 1st I noticed there was no instructions. I bought it for my father so I took it to his house connected the "line" to the jack and connected the electricity. I called his number, the ringer did not work. It made no sound and the light did not flash in any switch position. I switched the telephone line connection to "phone" still nothing. I took it to my house and tried it there with the same results. I think these are either crap or I got one someone else had returned for the same reason. I have a replacement coming, and will update my review after that. Received 2nd one today. This one was packaged in a box instead of soft package. The unit was not taped shut and it did include instructions, and best of all it DID work. Now my Dad can here his phone ring again.

Buyer Beware! This product DOES NOT work on VOIP, i.e. Comcast, Time Warner, Magic Jack Plus, Vonage, etc. The description of this product does NOT tell you this. We bought it to give to an elderly lady friend that is deaf and lives alone. It worked for about a week and a half, then it started randomly ringing or the siren on it would go off in the middle of the night and different times of the day. It scared the old lady (84) half to death, and she got her son to come over in the middle of the night thinking someone was breaking into her house or something. Upon calling Ameriphone/Clarity about it, we were told that it might work for a short time, then it WILL NOT work on VOIP and will do weird things, and since it is not defective, they would not give a refund. I feel strongly that if this company does not put that bit of information in the description of it before people spend their money buying it, then they are at fault and should stand behind it. It is NOT in the description, and they flat out said they won't give refunds because it is not defective. This is not a company that we will deal with again. Again BUYER BEWARE.......

i don't normally write reviews but i am writing this review to let all those looking for loud telephone ringer for their elderly parent, look no more this is it. My father with hearing aid is still hard of hearing. Over the past 10 years my nagging elderly father have gone thru many telephones and ringing devices claiming loud ringers with not much luck. My father is now 90 and i finally stumble onto Clarity ringer, installed it and i couldn't believe he heard it no problem! i put him in another room and he again heard it. Im just Amaze! The price is a bit steep but still worth every penny getting your elderly parent off your back LOL now only if i can get him to hear me on the phone that would be great. THIS IS ONE TO BUY!

My friend is 88 years old, and does well in life except for his hearing. He made it very clear that IF he did not like this ringer. He wanted to be able to use an RMA, and send it back. He also wanted to make sure it was a ringer that had a power adaptor. Many of his family and relatives call the house, and he does not hear the phone ring. He rarely leaves the house. I delivered it yesterday, and setup the phone ringer in minutes. He was PLEASANTLY surprised at the sound of the loud ring. He could hear this WITHOUT his hearing aid. He also LOVED the different ring patterns, and the ability the change the ring tones. He quickly told me this is NOT going back. The LED light on the top of the unit is good, but only OK if you are right next to it. It is not a strobe light, and just a novelty.

I have what my audiologist calls profound hearing loss. Without my hearing aids, I don't hear very much. I don't hear my iPhone or the normal telephone when my hearing aids are removed. I purchased this after an incident where my alarm company had called and my family tried 15 times to contact me. It was a false alarm, but it pointed out the problem. I like the fact that you can adjust the volume and the frequency/tone for your best personal experience. I'm glad I purchased this because now my family does not have to worry if they need to call me when I am asleep. I mounted it on the headboard of my bed. I definitely hear this. The neighbors across the street may hear it too. LOL. It's very loud.

This was the successful end of a several-years search. With age, I have lost almost all hearing above 500 Hz and could not hear a modern phone ring from a few feet away. Buying phones for the hard of hearing provided only voice amplification but no increase in ringer volume. Devices to amplify the ringer were high pitched and very annoying to my wife, The Ameriphone SR-200 has adjustable volume. It also has tone control. At the low-frequency tone setting, I can easily hear it in another room, yet it is not annoying at highest volume to my wife. It is not just worth the higher price, It Ameriphone SR-200 Super Phone Ringer  is the only product that does the job at any price.

My 89 year old dad asked me to buy him a corded phone with a very loud ringer so I bought him a clarity phone which states that it has a very loud ringer for seniors. Well my dad complain that the phone does not ring very loud at all. So I decided to buy him this product and see if it would work for him well my dad received this item and hooked it to his clarity phone he told me that he can hear the phone ringing all the way outside his house and the phone is located on the second level of the house. Best buy I have made in a long time

Can be set for a really loud ring. Seems to be well made. You should be aware that, in addition to the phone line, it does reauire a power supply line to be run to the unit which must be plugged into a 110V power outlet.

Works great. Instructions were not clear that you MUST insert the rechargeable batteries into the unit and use the adapter, or the unit does not work. Instructions gave the impression that using the adapter was an option. For the price of the unit I was surprised that batteries were not included. Very satisfied with the performance of this Ameriphone SR2000 Super Loud Telephone Ringer!

Everything is excellent...works perfectly.We use it in our warehouse because it's hard to hear the ohone when all machines are on (saws, air compressors, routers).For my use, wish it was just a tad bit louder...but it's still a great product.
