Nice HD
I purchased this drive before Christmas due to the fact my series X and expansion card we’re getting a little full. I had to return the 1st one in about a week. First off the green light never came on….ever. I let that go cause it was just a cosmetic thing. Then for no reason the drive would just continue to disconnect from my Xbox. Got the new one today and set it up. Low and behold the green light is on….woo hoo lol. I’m in the process of moving some games to it as I write this. Please remember you can’t play series X games directly from this drive. It’s just to store them and to transfer back when your ready to play it again. Believe me the transfer rate is way higher then redownloading it. I hope this review helps someone down the road. I’ll post an update later down the road.

Solid, quiet, fast transfers
Comes formatted in exFAT, so works with Mac, PC, Xbox. Took Lonnnng time (days) to format to NFTS and encrypt with Bitlocker, so plan accordingly if that's your plan.

Solid USB 3 external drive for PC regardless of branding.
If anyone is wondering if this has any issues working with PC out of the box, it doesnt. It was recognized like any external drive with no issues. I transfered an archive of about 450GB of .mkv files to it within a few minutes of unboxing and it got decent transfer speeds. ~100MB/sec and that was likely limited by the old drive in the NAS the archive was stored on. Should work fine for my fellow data hoarders out there.

Gotta know what it's for.
This is not an XBOX SERIES X specific drive, those only work via the built in "memory card" connection, if you keep in mind what you're buying then this is a good product, slightly overpriced just because of the branding, but also matches visually and aesthetically with the Xbox, fairly simple plug and play, though keep in mind that it does require its own power source. Again, does not count as modern super-fast storage, this is the same as any external drive, just a massive capacity, which is exactly what I was looking for, transfers games between internal and the external drive are fast and easy, which is much better than waiting for a download on slower internet connections. If you're looking for a massive storage bay, then this is a great way to go.

Best one for external memory
Best one out there for the storage for Xbox series s or Xbox series x would highly recommend because Xbox not going to let you have the 20 TB until next generation

Works nicely with the Xbox series 1X
Bought this because the Xbox 1 series X quickly ran out of space and I wanted to be able to play new games without a problem. This works great.

The only storage unit you need
I ordered the 8tb sea gate for anyone wondering. I do want to say right away this does NOT play X|S games. It will hold them but they will need to be downloaded on the consoles storage or an expansion card. Other than that this is a great storage unit and enough space for anyone needing this this much.

Doesn't work for Series X|S games
If you're like me, you saw this and thought, "Wow, 8TB of storage is a lot to work with, and it's from a trusted brand like Seagate." All of which is true. There IS 8TB of storage (7.3TB usable if you're wanting to be specific), and it sets up easily, as your Xbox handles all of the formatting. You just have to plug it in and run the provided USB cable to your Xbox. Now, initial setup and appearances aside, the reason this is getting one star is because it doesn't run Series X|S games. It will allow you to download games to the drive, but as your Xbox will let you know, the storage isn't fast enough to run any newer games. This includes ALL Series X|S games, even the smaller titles, and any Xbox One games that have been kept up to date. The only games that you can both store and play off of this drive are Xbox 360 and Xbox One games predating around 2018 or so. Any other game will require you to move it to the internal storage. So if you're like me, and you are looking for something to expand your storage capacity on your Series X or S, skip over this. It isn't worth it. And Seagate, if you happen to see this, I'm disappointed in you guys.

Funcionamiento perfecto
Hola. El uso del disco duro fue para guardar juegos de la consola Xbox. Es estético, la luz verde le da un toque especial, el disco duro cumple las funciones que esperamos para los juegos de 360, esperemos que así sea su desempeño para serie X.

XBOX SEAGATE 8TB HDD EXTERNAL USB
Bought this HDD as the NVME expansion drive was only 1tb and cost a whopping 199 GBP at the time. Microsoft were doing an offer for 2 NVME drives for 194.99 GBP but still 2tb was still too small and I would have to "hot-swop" them whenever I wanted to access the stuff I saved as it would be 2 drives of 1tb each. The pros were the speed which allowed "quick resume" and being able to play from external NVME. This might be features you want or maybe not its upto you. The HDD was 149 GBP it is a fast drive and allows me to save games on its giant 8TB capacity. I cannot play XS games or "quick resume" from HDD but you can copy XS games to the internal NVME. You can play 360 and some X1 games. The drive has a cool green glow and comes in XFAT format but if you want the most out of it then format it to NTFS as the files system is much better than XFAT and Xbox XS has no issues recognising it. The drive is good value for money and it allows you to store movies and music. I use the "Game Pass" and download my game as default to the HDD until I want to play them, as stated 360 games word of HDD and some X1 work of HDD. If you find your game choppy or slow them move it to internal storage and try again. Overall the HDD is very impressive and will give other HDD a run for there money. If you want a good value option buy this product if not then you might want to wait until the 2230 NVME storage chips are more readily available so that manufacturers can offer more that 1 or 2 tb capacities.
