Not bad, especially for the price
I've used dozens of calipers, and I bought this set for day-to-day use in a metal shop. It doesn't move as smoothly or respond as instantaneously as a Mitutoyo, but it gets the job done within .002" at a fraction of the cost. These are not as quite as precise or rugged as other calipers I own, but I payed about $30 for these and I don't regret it.Inch and MM modes work fine. There is no mode switch between ABS/INC; it's only incremental. I had the internal QC at my shop calibrate them on all four measuring surfaces, and they held true to standard. I like the auto-on function. A lot of calipers don't turn on automatically when you start using them, and it's a nice feature. Like most any digital calipers, it freaks out if you get them too moist, so it would sometimes display nonsensical dimensions when I had sweaty hands, but I'd wipe them down, zero them out, and they'd be fine. The plastic carrying case is a little hokey with slots for a jeweler screwdriver, a spare battery, and something else that apparently isn't included. All in all, these aren't terrifically special, but these are the best cheap calipers I've had.

Device is OK, case is broken junk
The device itself seems fine. The case for it is a complete piece of cr*p. When it arrived, the shipping packaging was in perfect condition, and it was well cushioned. But the case for the calipers was copletely shattered at one end ... and the battery was dead. The case was made of some cheap, brittle plastic, rather than a higher quality ABS, or some durable material. I guess I shouldn't be surprised for twenty bucks. I tried to send it back, but, even though I wrote to them twice, I received no response. So the status says "We're awaiting your return." But they won't give me return instructions. So, I'm stuck with it.

battery dead, but works great.
I work for an explosives group and we need to have good equipment. had the things a few days now and its as accurate as the rest we have ($80 calipers). The titanium makes it rugged enough we are not afraid to use it outside.as the others have said, it came not functional, but after getting the the battery out and checking it i found it was dead. so i popped in the PROVIDED extra battery and it started right up.the instructions do not tell you to remove the screw for the battery cover. it is the deepest screw on the back.the case is nice, but clearly cheap (keeping in mind i was buying a $30 caliper, not a case, i am not including this in my rating). this does not come with the instructions for it nor any screw driver like the picture implies.so for $30, it is pretty good.

great caliper for the money.
Great caliper for the money. It was a little tight when trying to open the first time. I turned the lock screw one turn to see if that was the problem and it was. Opens and closes just fine now especially after cleaning out channel that the depth bar recesses into and wiping all moving parts with LPS. I also own a Mitutoyo 6" caliper which I love however for $150.00 you should. So as a comparison this is well worth the money. Some other people who wrote reviews should know what they are talking about before writing bogus reviews. Also when I received mine the battery was removed from the compartment as not to drain it. As well as a replacement battery. Battery installation was slightly irritating however having a locking battery door will be nice. Repeatability is good keeping it within .001 which is pretty standard for ANY caliper. Again a great caliper for under 30 bucks.

JUNK! and poor customer service from Max Tool
I received the product and it was completely dead. Replaced the battery, but still no fix. Wouldn't turn on. Looks like I am not the only one with this problem. Other amazon reviewer had same issue. I also checked the batteries with a multimeter to confirm they were good but I couldn't get it to work no matter what.I called Max Tool and asked for an exchange. They gave me an RMA and said a new model would ship as soon as they received the defective unit. A few days later, before shipping it back, I decided I wanted a full refund instead. I called customer support and changed my RMA to full refund. They collected my credit card info to process the refund. 3 days later I get an email from Fed-Ex showing a new caliper is heading my way. What??! That's not what I asked for. Calling customer service was no help. They stated that I *ordered* a new caliper on my last call and refused to help. Their answer was for me to refuse the package when Fed-Ex shows up. Now i'm stuck with a 15% restocking fee for a junk product that I didn't order.Really poor service! If it had worked, I agree with the other reviewer, the product feels really cheap. It does not have smooth sliding action and the thumbwheel has poor traction. I guess you get what you pay for.

Good micrometer in a cheap storage case
The micrometer is very nice, no complaints there. It turns on and zeroes quickly, and seems to be solidly constructed.I haven't used it extensively yet, but so far it's working well. It's nice to be able to convert from inches to mils on the fly with the mils/inches button. The hinge on the cheap plastic case was either broken during assembly or in transit. A few drops of super glue repaired the hinge but it's still a little shaky. A better case would be nice but you pay mostly for the tool, not the container. For $30 the micrometer is a good deal even if the case is substandard.

very cool
This is accurate. It gives me dead-on accuracy of manufacturer specification-measurements of watch-parts, which are quite small, with very tight tolerances. For watch making and repair, it was actually more accurate than I needed it to be! I was not expecting that at all. I was expecting a sloppy tool that would maybe be a bit more accurate than a tape measure. It is also solid stainless steel with a titanium head so it's quite durable. It slides beautifully with no slop or play. It has a tare feature to zero it out when it's fully closed, similar to a digital scale. It comes with a case to protect it, so you can keep it in your garage without worrying about it getting covered in dust.It is made in China which is the only thing I don't like, but pretty much all electronics are nowadays.Hope that helps.
