Decent, not great
Got this to solve the issue of brewing cold brew myself in a mason jar - using strainers at home (tea, etc..), where there was a LOT of sludge left behind. The goods:The large capacity is the biggest benefit. The filter does a decent job getting most of the grounds out.Issues:1-the lid does not easily seal. I find myself putting a LOT of torque on it. Similarly, opening it is tough. Both of these, with about 1.5 quarts of strong coffee inside, run the risk of spilling.2-the filter does not get all the grounds. Using beans coarsely ground at Starbucks (who probably know what they're doing), there was at least three tablespoons of sludge at the bottom to be removed to avoid the grounds affecting the consistency, and flavor. After contacting the company, they suggested inspecting the filter - which is fine. Luckily it settles quickly, so multiple runs through the aforementioned strainer removed most of it, but it's a messy pain.Response to the company about this:We thank you very much. This is a new product for us, so we do need this input. Your experiment with a different filter is interesting. Starbucks coffee can sometimes have an inconsistent grind - coarse mixed with fine.If you notice other weird things, please share them.Wishing you a very happy new year!MelindaQi TribeI like the idea behind this, as well as the price. It's a little troubling to be a guinea pig and them passing the buck onto Starbucks. Neither of the above issues are return-worthy, but they are worth noting to those considering this over say the Oxo for 2.5 the price....Thinking of solving the issue with just buying a separate Mason jar lid and tossing the one supplied.

Weak, good quality filter, lid leaks.
I'm a bit disappointed in this cold brew coffee maker. I have experience with the Coffee Toddy for comparison. The stainless steel mesh filter vessel is nicely made and seems sturdy. The plastic lid leaks, however, both when the filter is in place while brewing and when the coffee/filter are removed for storage in the fridge...messy. The quality of the concentrate is quite weak compared to the Coffee Toddy. I suspect it is because the ground coffee is in a limited area compared to the total volume of water (residing inside the filter insert, a narrow truncated cone suspended in the jar) compared to the coffee and water being freely and thoroughly interspersed in the Coffee Toddy (which then depends on the thick felt filter to allow the concentrate to drain and leave sediment behind). This device allows somewhat more sediment into the concentrate than the felt filter of the Toddy. I used course ground coffee as instructed.I plan to get a second 2 liter mason jar to brew the coffee - without filter at all - and once brewed pour into the second jar - with filter in place - in order to see if I can reproduce the intensity of the Toddy's concentrate. I'll update this review once I've tried this.

Fesh & Cool Goodness
No one on the internet has a product as easy as this system. It is reasonably priced and my husband has taken over the coffee making since we received it....I should have ordered two. My family loves the simplicity and the cold brew is so smooth no one is having an upset tummy from drinking too much coffee!

Great system
Its great exactly what i was looking for followed the instructions but i added a step cause some fine settlment happens i filter through an ubleached coffe filter and their measurement for regular and concentrated is a little on the cautionary side as this 2 qaurt makes almost a full 12 cup coffee pot of coffee so their measurements are for me a little weak but i also been drinking cowboy coffe and always drank the kinda coffe that you can use as paint thinner as they say so if ya not like then their measurments are great if ya are make sure you use a full cup of beans or youll be disappointed

which has (to me) the best coffee flavor
My sister and I have been going through a number of different methods for brewing coffee... the old style percolator... French press... the classic Chemex style... the Mr.Coffee and Keurig styles... for the first the there was a messy cleanup consideration, for the last two the space they take up on your counter...So I went on a search, in particular for a cold brew system, which has (to me) the best coffee flavor... some of these systems are large and take up space and you have to continue to buy filters over time... When I saw this item it addressed each of the issues... it is about the size of a mayonnaise jar, the high quality mesh filter doesn't need to be replaced regularly and is of very good qualityand is easy to clean, and best of all its a great cup of coffee.

This is the one!
This is nicer than I could hope for in a simple cold brew set up. I am enjoying the awesome elixer at the moment. This thing was so easy to clean, as well. 2 quart was definitely the size I needed. I previously accidentally ordered a 1 quart from another company and had to return it unused because it was too small. With the larger one you can make smaller batches if you want. I only needed a cup of coffee to make a strong brew. I also never tried the plastic lid. I just used some metal lids I had on hand and experienced no leaks when I had to swirl the jar occasionally. Thanks for a well made great product!

Cold Brewed Coffee takes longer to make but the reduced acidity/bitterness is great!
My jar and filter arrived with no instructions but a quick email to the seller resulted in the receipt of an excellent set of instructions as a PDF. I would prefer it if the jar was plastic because I live in fear of dropping the glass Mason jar. I might suggest you buy the smaller one-quart size if you have small hands or worry about dropping this larger 64 fl.oz. two-quart size. It makes great cold brewed coffee and I am really enjoying the lack of bitterness.

Great cold brew system!
Deducting one star because the lid that comes with it leaks slightly when I shake the jar to mix the grounds up. This is easily solved by using another lid, I chose the reCap mason jar wide lid.Other than that, I love this setup. It is really simple and easy to use, and no problem with grounds getting into the coffee. My cold brew is delicious.
