Are you able to use these with an xbox series s? has anyone tried?

Xbox has Bluetooth I believe but doesn’t support unapproved devices

Why does this need a plug in usb reciever? Can it not simply connect via bluetooth?

Bluetooth is great for connecting to your phone for music or calls but very poor for gaming as it adds latency and caps quality. The USB receiver for PC allows for full speed like that of a wire in terms of latency (around 5ms) as it uses the full wi-fi bandwidth and no compression. Much better for Gaming and simultaneous in-game chat requirements. Hope this is helpful.
