"Good Times" with Sonny and Cher
I saw this movie shortly after it came out, in 1968, while I was in the U.S.Navy. I loved it then and was later able to buy the soundtrack album. I always liked the great music and never forgot the film. I finally got my first big flat screen TV and out of curiosity recently looked on Amazon to see if this film was even available on DVD. It was and it was only $5.99 so I ordered it, along with some other 'old' favorites and I was thrilled with it again. It was so much fun to see Sonny and Cher young again (my goodness, Cher NEVER seems to have aged!), and the music videos were FABULOUS! I've watched them over and over! This film is on my 'favorites' list of my over 1000 DVD collection! Great, fun film!! And the DVD quality is excellent, as it was produced by the original production company, not some secondary production house! 5 STARS!

What can be better than Sonny & Cher?
This is a little known film by Sonny & Cher on their early days. They plot may be a little hokey, but I love all the musical numbers. I have the DVD, too! There will never be another couple like them!!

The Beat Goes On...Not In the Movie
Fans of the old "Sonny and Cher Show" will love this movie. "Good Times" pretty much follows the formula of the TV program with comedy sketches bookending musical numbers. The sketches here are mildly amusing but not particularly memorable. The songs, composed and arranged by Sonny, are terrific. They have kind of a Spectorish feel to them. Cher wears outrageous outfits that are more Austin Powers than Bob Mackie. I think the selling point of the movie is its positive vibes. Sonny and Cher were married at the time and their love for each other is apparent. We're not breaking cinematic ground here but just having good times.

I Loved this movie...Buy it. Its funny & soothing to see them together.
Watched this movie 3 times after I got it. And as a devoted Sonny & Cher fan of the 70's it was nice to see what they were working on in their early career development years. In the "I got you babe years " before Sonnys mustache days..Loved the movie rate it AAAAAAAAAAA++++++++Peace & Love to them & their families...

Cher's First movie!
Got here fast. A classic movie that stars Sonny and Cher, in their only movie together. And Cher's first movie ever.

It's boring and lame.
I;m a sonny and Cher fan but I don't even think they would admit to making this movie.

great songs not so great script
..since we do not have(or have not been released) live performances of the early Sonny & Cher, this movie gives you some idea what that period was about (1964-1967)..the music is interesting & some of the jokes are good, but the script is too broad of a humor unto & like the Monkees..however, it is great to see them perform & be themselves at a very young age & stage

Sunny outshone by George?
Don't dismiss this DVD. Sunny and Cher are irritating at the best of times but what's surprisingly good about this film is its quality, is fantastic. Typically 60's but best of all we get to see Sanders play comedy, something he rarely did but does do extremely well. The storylines are silly as our the characters, but take it as just a bit of fun. Fast forward and watch Sanders act them off the set (and run off with his paycheck).

Poor acting, a bit boring sorry to say as I loved Sonny and Cher in the 60s.

Good Times were really good times....
.....well needless to say I didn't buy this DVD for the story line. Or for their acting ability.I am a big Sonny and Cher fan. I have always loved Sonny's earlier productions for "Sonny and Cher" and for "Cher"...i.e: those from her Imperial period. This movie was released in 1967 just before Sonny veered away from the Spectoresque/folk rock sound (that had made the duo so famous) and went onto produce what I refer to as a more mainstream sound. There best offering from that later time being "All I Ever Need Is You".Stand out numbers in the Soundtrack to Good Times are "It's The Little Things" which is accompanied by a colourful video in the movie where Cher displays some of her amazing fashion creations (eat you heart out Carnaby Street), "Don't Talk To Strangers" and the epic finale "Just A Name" (eat your heart out Phil Spector). The quality of the picture is excellent and thank goodness fills the entire screen of the TV, no looking through a letter box or black bands top and bottom. The sound is also good quality.A real must see for anyone interested in the music and pop culture from that psychedelic era.
