First Aid for the NBDE Part II (First Aid Series) 1st Edition

This was my primary study method for NBDE II. I found the organization in this book great and found it best to go through this book first and then using Dental Decks to quiz yourself. In my opinion, the book is more concise with less trivia than the decks.

Money well spend. I reviewed this before my exam and passed with flying colors.

I purchased this book for my boards (duh). I havent taken it yet but thus far this book is helping me a LOT with my studies. Again, i've said this about other review books, its an amazing book to scribble all your extra information in. First Aid is just sick nasty.

I think that this book is worthwhile for anyone studying for the boards. It may not be the comprehensive review that you need, but it solidifies concepts in a concise and helpful manner. This is not an exam that can be taken really lightly so you need to now how much you need to study. This book covers the breadth of dentistry and part II material. I have not taken the exam yet, but I know concepts have been solidified for me by reading this book. It is not over 300 pages and has mostly black and white text,pictures; along with an attachment of colored pictures. Great book, solid price, if you have trouble getting started studying this book will help you get over that hump.

This is a very poor review book. It falls short in many topics like perio and pros, path, radiology. This is the type of book that will give you a false sense of confidence. If you just use this book you will be unprepared for the exam. The book is an outline form and the outline is very basic. The only good portion in this is the Pharm section, but other than that its poor. Lots of topics are not covered that you will run into on your board exam. There are better review material out there and I recommend you use one of those instead.
