The product is perfect for water resistance but.. After spraying my sofa with it, I read about the $850 million settlement in the US for a lawsuit against 3M for Scotchgard and other products contains PFCs. It got me worried for a day and I went through all the news about it. Apparently, 3M had dumped chemicals at sites near Minneapolis for more than 40 years, allowing them to get into wildlife and drinking water. So, the locals sued claiming that the PFCs had entered the food-chain causing cancer and premature births. 3M kept denying it in response to the locals claims. There was an out of court settlement. The company now claims that there are no PFCs in their products like this one. I was relieved to read that. I bought sofas online and wanted to make them water resistant with Scotchgard. After spraying I was pleasantly surprised to see the effect. It works pretty well in making the fabric water resistant. Because of all the negative news, I'm not sure if I'll use it again.

It works! Great as protection from liquid spills. Good for household with kids

Quite a nice product to clean furniture

I found the product to be totally absolutely ineffective. Disappointing, useless. I would never recommend this product to anyone. It is a blot on 3Ms reputation. I feel absolutely cheated after using this product. Those who are thinking to buy this product, avoid avoid avoid.

This product changed the colour of the fabric to dull brown, making it look soiled! Moreover the price is high and doesn't price protect against dirt.

Most use full Fabrics protection 5star rate Single can use Single sofa set fully. Better for 3m water shield 10oz

Just covered my 3 seater chaise lounge, seems to work well! Would probably buy two next time for extra coverage. Strong smell initially but wears off quickly.

I used this Scotchgard Fabric Water Shield on my fabric dining chairs and a decorative pillow before hosting guests, and I was impressed with how easy it was to apply. The spray went on evenly, dried clear, and didn't leave any visible residue or change the color or feel of the fabric. A few days later, I accidentally spilled a small amount of water, and it beaded up on the surface instead of soaking in, making cleanup quick and easy. I also like that one can covers several smaller items, so it feels like a good value. The only thing I'd recommend is using it outdoors or in a well-ventilated area because the spray has a noticeable odor while you're applying it. Once it dries, the smell goes away. Overall, it's a great product for helping protect fabric furniture, pillows, shoes, and other items from everyday spills. I would definitely purchase it again.
