MLX-45 EasyFill Electronic Automatic Filling System. No Valve. for Contractors and DIYers - Fill'er Up!

This is a good easy to setup device for maintaining the proper water level for an outdoor water feature. We have a fairly large water feature and our pump is rated at 17500 gph. and has over 20 feet of elevation. When the fall is running, causes ripples in the water, the probes on the sensor are only about 1/8 of inch apart, these ripples cause the intake valve to turn on / turn off rapidly. In our house, we hear this. Ideally, there would be an adjustment that has a range (say an inch) so when the water level gets below the lower probe, open the intake valve until the water gets to the shutoff probe. So when it does turn on, it might fill for 5 minutes, and then it would not come back on until it gets below the fill point.

I bought this product as I was tired of dealing with the mechanical water filler in my pond. The mechanical water filler constantly gets stuck with pond debris and kept on overflowing my pond. This is an excellent product if you know how to install an automatic sprinkler valve. I went to a local hardware store and bought an Orbit in-line 24V automatic sprinkler valve. I then shut the water off and cut the 3/4" PVC pipe feeding the mechanical water filler and install the Orbit valve in between. Be sure to pay attention to the water flow direction on the valve. I then removed the floater from the mechanical filler and left everything else as is. The instruction that came with the product is a one-pager but does a fairly good job explaining how to wire the valve to the sensor and then to the included power supply. The setup has worked as promised. 100% pleased thus far.

I out this on our pond/water feature 4 years ago and it works fantastically. It's connected to a Rainbird® sprinkler valve. I have only had to remove hard water buildup one time. The hard water buildup can cause this to remain in the "ON" position. This is a big time saver and our pond liner is always filled to the desired level. I highly recommend this item.
