Karibu Baby Cushion Step Potty, Red

My little guy liked it from the moment we took it out of the box; he's excited to use his big boy potty. What's great about this potty is no emptying waste....yuck! The step is very stable and my son feels secure stepping up and turning around. The handles help him get situated on the seat and push himself back into position. Taking it off and putting it on the toilet takes a second, and the seat part folds down so you can lean this up against the wall. We ordered the blue because it matches his whale themed bathroom. In the stock picture the seat design is a safari type theme. What we received is the blue base as pictured but with a different seat design. The seat cushion has cute sea animals which actually turned out to match the bathroom better. It appears based on other reviews and my own experience, that when you purchase this potty the seat design varies wildly. You are essentially choosing the color and the seat pattern will vary.Update: We love this seat so much that I purchased a second one in white for our main bathroom downstairs. The seat has held up great the last few months and has made potty training a total breeze. My son never used a traditional potty that requires emptying. Fantastic item.

I was SO SO SO disappointed when I opened the package to find that the chair they sent me was not the chair I ordered :( I specifically ordered this one because it is the one with the LADYBUGS AND FROGS but I still received the one with monkeys and jungle animals! Very disappointing and misleading. Nowhere does it say "colors/patterns may vary". Luckily, my son likes monkeys and is not as disappointed as I am, and I have decided to avoid the hassle of trying to exchange the seat I received for the one I actually ordered and keep the one I got. Oh well... if I could give the seller alone 1 star, I would - but the seat really is the best I've found so I gave it 3. It's fairly sturdy, safe, comfy, adjustable, cute (LADYBUGS WOULD BE CUTER!), and in less than an hour, my son had mastered climbing up/turning around/peeing all by himself and he is SO proud (me too!). There is just enough of a splash guard so that nothing escapes the toilet, but not so high as to hinder his independence. I sent back the "Mommy's Helper Cushie Step Up" ladder seat (which seems to be the best rated ladder seat on Amazon) and I am glad I decided to give this one a try because it is SOOO much better. Very happy with the seat, pretty annoyed with the seller. Change your product photo!

We have at least 5 different potty seats to train our 2 year old boy, including Mommy's Helper Cushie Step Up which is found in many big box stores. This product is fantastic and better than all of those others for in-home use. Obviously, this is not something you would be able to carry around town in a bag.1. It's stable as a ladder, and not as easy as the Mommy Helper version for the kid to force the ladder legs to swing up when sitting on it2. It has a nice "catcher rim" to help make sure the boy's business stays in the potty3. There is a downward facing rim inside the toilet seat that makes it so that all dribble goes straight from this product into the bowl. We have a problem with the Mommy's Helper where our son will pee right between the toilet and the toilet seat sometimes making a mess. That can't happen with this product4. The size of the hole for his tush is about right5. It's easy to move out of the way if I need to use the toilet6. Our son can get up and down by himselfI only wished I had purchased this before buying some other brands.

(Please read follow up at bottom before you purchase)The Pro's:1) Its fun2) Its Green3) Its a frog4) Its reasonably secure5) Its cushion is comfortable and easy to clean.6) Its collapsible7) Its business area is wide enough to assure all goes where it should.....in most cases.The Con's1) While I did state it was sturdy you should not let your child climb on it unassisted (You think that would be a no Brainer)2) The plastic screws that assembles the product will not survive long if you plan on disassembling it (Head will strip) due to soft plastic (Inspect daily)3) Step could/should be a little more beefy; this is where this product could improve and why its 4 out of 5.Follow up on safety:We had this product for several months now and up until last week it has worked as one would expect. As I had mentioned in my review under Cons: "Plastic Screws" could prove to be an issue - well they are. I can not stress enough how important it is to do daily inspections on this companies poor choice of material for establishing connections - especially the upper most points; and please never let your child climb on this product unassisted as I had mentioned in my original review. To reflect on my original line of thinking, I could not give this product a 5th star; but having seen those assumptions manifest into a true safety issue I must reduce my rating of this product to a 2 out of 5.Hope this helps,Sounds

We got this seat because our daughter (2yrs old) loves to be a big girl and do things on her own. We tried the potty chair that sits on the floor and she would never use it, then tried the seat that you set onto the actual toilet seat and she would go but since she couldnt put her feet down we were having a hard time getting her to go number 2 and she would fight us etc. This thing has been incredible in progressing her potty training to the next level. Shes short so the adjustable step is at the very top but she can still climb up and down it by herself just fine. This seat is sturdy and doesnt wobble on our toilet when shes climbing/sitting either. Now when we ask her if she has to potty she gets excited and runs to the bathroom for us to set it up. It folds easily for setting aside and will be easily adjustable as she gets taller. We love this thing. :)
