Animal Farm (Wordsworth Classics)

Very poignant to what we are experiencing today

Nice copy of this classic, great value and with an interesting and well-written introduction.

This version has a lot of extra commentary. I saw Aminal Farm at my daughter's school as one of "50 books to read before you leave primary school" so would have preferred one with a nice simple introduction then the story.

I really enjoyed this story, it’s very cleverly written concept.

Classic book

I had heard of Animal Farm and had an idea of the premise of the Book. Animals get rid of Human beings and take control of the Farm themselves in direct mimicking of the Russian Revolution and the beginning of Communism. I didn't realise this was an essay of no more than 150 pages, so that was a shock. However the book does deal with the Human nature, ie, Humans are corruptible and will Always seek to improve their own situation over that of others at every single opportunity.In Animal Farms case this takes the form of the Pig Napoleon. Napoleon promises the Farm animals all the things they craved under Mr Jones the Farmer self governance, an equal share for all, retirement after a set number of years labour, warm living conditions, more food, less work, more leisure time etc.None of this happens of course as over time Napoleon and his pig comrades take more of the spoils for themselves leaving the other animals without and uses his loyal trained Dogs to threaten the Animals into working harder for less and less and as time goes by the farms rules are changed to benefit the pigs over every other animal. At the end of the essay, the Pigs have become so removed from the animals they were they are indistinguishable from the Humans they got rid of for treating them so badly in the beginning. Just as Communism promises yet fails to deliver whilst the leaders live in palaces.In the end Animal Farm is a warning to all never to look a gift Horse in the mouth. If someone is promising something that sounds too good to be true it always will be just that and that if it is being promised it is because someone will always be benefitting from it not you.

I personally found it a bit boring but it’s my personal opinion.Book came as mentioned.

على الرغم من كونها رواية عن مزرعة حيوانات و تمردهم و المعنى اعمق من المكتوب ، كل صفحة تجذبك للصفحة اللي بعدها ، طريقة السرد مشوقة و ابداعية لأبعد درجة استمتعت و انا اقرأها من كل قلبي تمنيت انها اطول من كذا ، الملاحظات المرفقة بالرواية توضح المقصد من كل حدث ، تستاهل ١٠/١٠ 🩷🩷

Es un libro muy interesante. Una fábula de carácter político ambientado en la Rusia de Trotsky y Stalin reprentados como "cerdos" sabios que controlan al resto de los animales y deciden rebelarse contra el humano por su vida de esclavitud y de hambruna. Descubrirán que no es oro todo lo que reluce. Una historia que todo el mundo debería leer. Un libro muy ameno de leer. Además incluye otros relatos interesantes relacionados. El libro ha llegado en muy buenas condiciones. La hoja muy fina pero para el precio no me puedo quejar. Muy recomendable.

Kargo hizli geldi. Kitap kullanilmamis sifir ama biraz yipranmis geldi arka kapaginda bukulmus gibi kirisik, sayfalar cok dağınık geldi.
