Great for Working Out and Relaxing
I may be late to the game on Disclosure and their 2013 US released of "Settle" but as we say better late than never. Of course like some I discovered them due to the recent success of Sam Smith here in the States with their "Latch" colab as well as both Sam's and Disclosure's individual colab with MJB (Mary J Blige) on "Stay with Me" and "F for You" respectively.I'm in agreement with all the positive reviews for "Settle" so there is not much more I can add in accolades. This is my #1 listening piece as of this review and will be for a while. This is a great musical piece for work outs as well as relaxing. Yes I said relaxing for a dance compilation. Go figure. Anyway this could replace my morning coffee intake to start the day. Very upbeat as dance/house music can be but also very melodic. The only thing I would change is the order of the track listing. And since I have a digital copy as well I did make that change. For those interested here is my listing (really changes the flow of "Settle" to me at least).1. Intro2. When a Fire Starts to Burn3. F for You4. January5. Defeated No More6. Help Me Lose Mind7. You and Me8. Latch9. Voices10. White Noise11. Confess to Me12. Grab Her13. Stimulation14. Second Chance

No More Secrets: It's Time for Disclosure!
If you like to dance, you probably already own this album, but if you don't & you like to dance, buy it. It's that good. Nominated for the 2013 Mercury Prize for best album & named by Rolling Stone as one of top 50 albums of the year, "Settle" is basically an album of house music, but house music done exceedingly well.Guy and Howard Lawrence, two brothers, make up the group Disclosure & their influences are deep house & UK garage. Along with their influences they also have a good ear for melody. Their rhythms are clean & irresistible - they make you wanna move! While the melodies are fresh & inviting, -- transporting, really. Close your eyes and you're there, on the dance floor, whether 20 yrs ago, 10 yrs ago, or now. Disclosure touches all the bases. The Lawrence Brothers are young but their musical knowledge of the genre is deep & impressive. They know what works & nearly everything on "Settle" works beautifully. Buy it. You won't be disappointed.

Better than I thought it would be.
A couple of the songs from this album were offered up a while back as free songs of the day on Google Play Music, which is how I first heard of this artist. Later I heard the album on Spotify and wasn't really impressed, but decided to pull the trigger anyway. The two songs I got for free (F For You and White Noise) are still my favorites off the entire album, but hearing it in its full fidelity and without interruption I've come to appreciate the talent behind the work. That's not to say it's a five-star effort. The second half of the album is a bit wobbly, with a few tunes that will wind up being skipped in future listenings. And I'm still not sold on the super repetitiveness of When A Fire Starts To Burn, either. Overall I like it, but I don't love it. Yet.

My faith in EDM has been rejuvenated
A friend showed me the extremely catchy single known as "Latch," and then I proceeded to dig up information about this up and coming electronica duo. "F for You" definitely became a personal favorite, so I ended purchasing the entire album and was not disappointed by the rest of the tracks. That persistent kick drum and snare, combined with synths and modulated bass lines work together magically to make each song dance-floor worthy. The vocal performances only add an element of emotional content, which further takes a hold of your internal rhythm. One of the most exciting and catchy albums from an electronic group I have heard in some time, paving the way for more originality and underrated tracks, amid the craziness and varying styles in the wide genre of EDM. Thank you Disclosure, for a breath of fresh air and raising the bar. I highly recommend this album, and look forward to next releases from these innovative young artists.

Not sure why recommended for me, just not my style.
Amazon recommended the album based on my buy of "Toska" by Suzuki (amazing downtempo cd by 1/2 of K&D and his mate), but the music is way apart on the spectrum of electronic music as this is house/garage with a production sheen. If you like soul/R&B vocals you will be in heaven, but I could tell I wouldn't be into this as soon as the first track lapsed into a looped vocal sample of "when a fire starts to burn". I have never cared for this type of thing, which is heavily employed by old school DJs like Coldcut to impart a layer of ironical eye winking to their tracks (samples of old quadrophonic engineers explaining stereo sound to the 1960's listener spring to mind if you know what I mean). Anyway, UK garage was never the most interesting or organic style back then and, for me, this ressurection doesn't hold my interest. The beats are samey, there is no groove, and it is very hard and artificial like the soundtrack to an advertisement. Not to say it is poorly executed, because it isn't, but this was not what I expected from the reviews. It would be great chopped up and mixed into a live set on the dancefloor but it won't be in my heavy rotation for daily driving. Two stars because I should have listened first. And will people please stop using these reviews to criticize the packaging used by some random seller from whom you bought a used copy? Or to complain about a warped record or Amazon shipping fees? None of that involves the music or anything else other buyers may care about and it just muddles the reviews.

AMAZING - But Check Out the FREE 37 Track Version on Amazon Prime
One of the best debut albums of house/garage/awesome tracks by a group ever recorded surely - it rocks from start to finish with no filler or tracks that you want to skip. Just repurchased as a gift after falling in love with it last year. So many amazing tracks, it's impossible not to love it if you're into garage/house/dance music that has soul and depth as well as incredible tunes and bass.Much more than just dance music with some random vocals thrown on top, these are proper, well written songs as well - some of the songs have a really beautiful edge to them, too - 'F For You' and 'Help Me Lose My Mind' being two of my favourites, the latter featuring an amazing vocal from London Grammar (get their debut album too which is equally as incredible but a lot more chilled).I noticed when purchasing this that on Amazon Prime at the moment you can get an incredible special edition featuring 37 tracks in total with loads of remixes and extra tracks, which is pretty amazing!

Great album, poor sleeve
This a really good album from Disclosure, with many hits that play very well on my record player.Only receives 4 stars because:The sleeve it came in was very old and had visible marks around where the vinyl is.The inner sleeves are hard cardboard which doesn't do much to protect against dust and makes the vinyl quite hard to take out as well.

A joy from start to finish
Well, I'm a convert. Let me firstly state that this is an absolutely brilliant pop / house / garage LP from two extraordinarily talented brothers. Having said that, I only got into their music through osmosis. Zane Lowe's constant championing of the band allowed me to hear their glossy, shiny singles (i.e. the more commercial stuff) while cooking / cleaning in the evenings. I bought the album not exactly knowing what to expect, but it didn't - and still doesn't - let me down in any way. I can happily listen to it from start to finish and not skip a track. It's quite simple - there aren't layers and layers of sounds - but it's effective and catchy and the Lawrence brothers not only know how to write a song, they also have impeccable taste in guest vocalists. This is a great debut, but what's really exciting is I get the sense they could be like the Chemical Brothers or Orbital and produce classic album after classic album. Here's hoping ...

Essential listening
Nothing but praise for this excellent album, when so many out there are offering such bland and uninspiring music, Disclosure break the mould with this outstanding offering, a must have.

A Good Album

The deluxe edition of the album contains four bonus tracks including Disclosure's remix of Jessie Ware's song "Running". The album debuted at number one on the UK Albums Chart. It has also earned pervasive critical praise by NME, Digital Spy and Billlboard - to name but a few.
