Cabot Australian Timber Oil, Natural, 1 Quart

I've been a big fan of this product for years. I bought this to rejuvenate a wood bench that had been finished with dark oil, but is now faded. Worked quite well.

Really excellent product. I have used this on several woodworking projects and it really enhances the grain and beauty of the wood, depending on what wood you are using of course. Dries pretty quickly which is great.

i used this timber oil as a recommendation for protecting some bamboo fencing i use for an outdoor shower. it went on the bamboo very nicely. i used a brush and there were certainly some drip / run spots but i didnt care because it is an outdoor shower. if you want a more uniform professional look you would likely need to use a cloth. i used very little as the bamboo has a finished like feel to the outside. i also used it on some cedar and other wood on the same shower - those were more porous and although i only had a small amount of this type of wood to cover, i could tell it was really soaking up the oil. if you have more porous wood, expect to use a lot more of the oil. i cant say right now how well it is protecting the wood as i just recently applied it, but i suspect it should do well. i live in the high desert with lots of heat, dryness sun but also cold winters. it IS a shower so the wood will also get wet. this oil was recommended to me by the bamboo company i purchased the bamboo from and i was told it should work with all the extremes in the environment i explained above.

I have a small deck made of Brazilian Tiger Wood. I have stained maybe three times. Last year I sanded down to the original wood. I live in NM and summer sun is harsh. Last year put one coat of this product with the instructions to use lamb wool whatever the tool was. Did not come out really good and lasted one season but I overall liked it. This year put on two coats with sponge applicator and it turn out much better. Will use again when needed.
