Master Lock TSA Approved Combination Luggage Lock, Silver, 4688SLVEC

We got new luggage and realized we had lost the keys for the locks that we always used on our old suitcases. I wanted something that wouldn't require a key and felt like it was a little sturdier and this lock definitely ws that. Setting the combination was quite easy and looping the lock through the zipper pulls was very easy. These were a good price and actually cheaper on Amazon than if we had bought them in a physical store locally. We got two of these - one in silver and one in red. Master Lock has always been great quality and I highly recommend getting this brand over others.

Very easy to set the combination and fit our filmgear pelicases very well. They withstand the rigours of travel - US and international - very well and I've never had one lost thru handling anywhere in the world. Sadly, TSA are not so rigorous at fitting them back on a case after checking - and they check our bags all the time. So I have to travel with several spares, preset to the combination.The red color stands out well and makes the padlock easier to find in a cramped hotel room during packing, when all the gear is scattered around the floor.In the past I've had types with rigid locks instead of this flexible cable type - they got knocked off the cases almost every trip - these ones can take a hit and have a little 'give' so withstand baggage handling much better.We travel every couple of weeks - so these have had a pretty good field test - most recently in Germany, Sweden, England, Spain, Denmark and Italy. No problems with security there either - so don't be put off for international travel where foreign versions of TSA don't have the access key.Just make sure you buy extras...UPDATE:So a year later - and still going strong - despite some very heavy use. No issues at all - and it's not often you can say that about anything these days. And to add to their international travels, these have now covered Canada, Australia, Switzerland, Holland as well.So good in fact that I have just bought more for extra cases.

Easy to use and you can always change the code. I mainly used this as a deterrent and an extra step if someone wants to open my luggage. I'm sure the lock can be cut but it's an extra step in which a theif can get caught. Nice product.

I have been so used to the padlock-type locks that I wasn't certain that I was going to like this cord-style offering from MasterLock.My first impression was not a great one. You basically have to press down on the cord and move it to the left or right to release and lock. I much prefer the solid padlock action as opposed to this.However, the appreciation for this lock came when I simply slid the flexible cord through my luggage zippers and then inserted it into the lock. So, if you have awkward locks on your suitcase, bags, lockers, or just about anything -- you now have far more maneuverability with this corded lock.Setting my own combination was very easy. Just be certain that it's initially set to "000" and that you are able to unlock it before attempting to set your own combination. It really is an effortless process.The quality of this lock is outstanding. Of course, it comes from Master Lock which has the best reputation in manufacturing reliable and dependable locking mechanisms. While I don't think this will protect your valuables 100% (as I am certain the cord can be cut with something), it does act as an excellent deterrent for most curious potential thieves.If you are looking for flexibility in a dependable locking mechanism look no further than this one!

Absolutely horrible product. I followed the instructions exactly to reset the password, and now the lock won’t open at all. Completely useless and extremely frustrating. I would not recommend this product to anyone.

Used it on my backpack. The thin wire slips into a pair of zipper handles well (only good if there are two handles on the same zipper though). Easy to detach and re-attach when I needed in and out

Seems like a good lock but numbers are very hard to read and finicky to line up with the white dots. Also an unusual way to unlock which helps accidental opening but tricky to figure out at first

This is bendable and flexible and gets in the hard to reach places. I also found it very secure doing many trips interstate but also to Europe so highly recommend.

Brilliant little padlock. Nice looking easy to set up and strong. Just used on a trip to Mexico after reading review about how good this lock is. It lived up to the review and we have decided to purchase two more .

Solo lo he usado para malera de equipaje, muy fácil de configurar la combinación que se desea, solo se deben leer bien las instrucciones y se le puede cambiar la clave fácilmente. El cable se ve muy resistente. El cuerpo del candado es de muy buen material. Y lo mejor es que es de los candados aprobados por la TSA así que se puede estar 100% seguro que no lo romperán en revisiones de aduana o seguridad.

Used it for my paintball gear bag and i love it, its small and very easy to use, it only took me 30 seconds to recreate my own number combo. I bought two of them and they work wonders, but the best part is that its TSA certified so no more cut locks from the airport anymore :). Their isnt much to say about this product, it just works as intended and as described in the description.
