When it comes to lipo batteries for the RC hobby, it's best to use a belt and suspenders approach. Nobody wants to come home from a vacation only to find that their house has burnt down because of an angry lipo. I have seven lipo batteries of different sizes and ages. They are all used in my weekend bashers. This ammo can is well built, heavy duty, and is the perfect size to accommodate a lipo safe bag. If you are using it for this purpose, make sure to vent the can by trimming the gasket on the lid of the can. I chose to remove the sides of the gasket so that any lipo smoke can escape safely without pressurizing the can. Then I use the Lipo Safe bag for an added layer of protection. Best to store this setup on nonflammable surface.

These ammo boxes arrived in mint condition, because they were securely packaged at the factory. They were made in Indonesia. The paint job and construction are of high quality. Army surplus 50 Cal ammo boxes I have purchased in the past appear to be identical to the Fortress model. Surplus ammo boxes are cheaper in price, but many times they arrive with worn out gaskets, dents and rust spots. As a 77 year old avid hunter in the wetlands of Louisiana, 50 Cal metal ammo boxes have been my go too method for storing ammunition. In 2005 Hurricane Katrina destroyed our home with 14 feet of sea water, and almost killed my wife and I. Virtually everything we owned was destroyed. However, all my rifle, pistol and shotgun ammunition that was stored in ammo boxes, identical to the Fortress, were completely protected. Great ammo can. What more to say. Noticed some reviewers had trouble getting that huge label off without leaving residue on the can. Grab a hair dryer or better yet a heat gun and heat up the label till its pretty warm. Now you can peel it off cleanly. No paper scraps or glue left behind. Enjoy!

1) They must have fixed the annoying sticker problem because it peeled off all in one piece with no residue left behind 2) Cans sit perfectly flat on top of one another and don't wobble. The handle of the bottom box fits perfectly in the groove of the top box. 3) No dents or thin metal - wont dent if pressed firmly. Solid build. 4) Perfect size for cell phone battery malfunction containment. Lots of room for pressure release. 5) Opens on one side. Easy to latch shut, no resistance. 6) No scratches - gorgeous, smooth, matt finish. Beautiful colour. 7) Good quality rubber seal - easy to remove, NOT easy to reassemble I have nothing negative to say about this product. I'm very happy with this purchase.

Use this for storage in my office. Holds a lot of miscellaneous firearm equipment that doesn't require lock and key.

Awesome quality and solid. I use it to store my batteries and powerbank. Also it has rubber around the lid to make it splash proof and lid comes off easily. I will get another one for valuables.

I bought this 50 Cal metal ammo box to hold my RC tank batteries. I manage to hold at least 12 batteries and still had room in it! The construction was very sturdy and strong. The paint finish was nicely done. The handle for the box was also pretty sturdy. Excellent case for the price!
